Official 2008 Yale Transfer Thread

frrrph, i want you to know that whatever happens, you've been an inspiration; from that first time i saw one of your posts, i knew right away why yale wanted you. thanks so much for the continued support althroughout this grueling process!
cheesy mode but this is what i'm genuinely feeling

sarah, does that apply to international applicants as well?

I do not know, sorry, I am not an international applicant....

This time next year, my friends, this time next year. I will be sweating much as you all are right now. I've been reading this forum for the past half hour or so and I must admit - you're all doing a wonderful job of keeping your cool.

Stay strong and enjoy this moment! You'll all do great!

when you get accepted
you will miss the moment when you were waiting and freaking out

Anybody get a cute email today, that was rumored would come?

when do we hear the 16th?

Thursday or Friday I bet....

you can call them on the 16th.. they said that after they send out decisions on the mail, they will be available on phone

So who wants to take a bet that we'll be getting emails bright and early tomorrow morning?

tomorrow's the 12th... and it does seem very likely that they'll send e-mails tomorrow morning (afternoon here :D )

do you know if these emails are supposed to contain decisions, or are they just to tell us when to expect decisions?

I would guess that they'll have the actual decisions. It seems that the schools that use automated, online systems tend to send a "here's when you can check your decision" email, whereas those who rely on snail mail and/or email just send the decision. I imagine Yale's pretty busy this time of year, and won't waste time sending multiple emails when it doesn't have to.

Hopefully they'll put "rejection" in the subject line and save me the heart attack that will stem from having to actually open that email!

i agree with you speakout! i just hope it would say "accepted" in stead lol

Hmm...I don't think we get an e-mail. Just a letter sometime next week.

yeah... why do people seem so certain about the whole e-mail thing?!

I'm confused

I think some ppl suspect emails maybe sent out bc last year several ppl on CC posted that they received emails informing them of their acceptances, however, I am not sure whether these individuals were int'l applicants or both.

Uhms looking back at that old post I found that this dude was accepted( he lives in the US and received an email)

well I was nothing that spectacular. here are my Stats:

ACT:33
SAT:2290/2400

College GPA:3.9
H.S. GPA:3.9

extrac's:I was a member of the BSU and CESA
LDSSA and the BYU students support staff

I feel that the one thing that helped me gain admissions was the fact that I was from the middle of well nowhere Utah!!!!!!!, anyhow I wish all you all the best of luck with any of your other schools, if it makes you feel any better I have not recieved my package in the mail yet from Brown or Yale, however for brown I dont know the decisions on my application they have been a bit complicated in terms of giving the decision over the phone and for Yale well I was informed via e-mail and then a package arrived, this late yes yes indeed. Anyhow that is my story, and for frrpph , if you are reading this did you get your financial aid with your letter? cuz I am still waiting on mine they have delayed like everything on my application this year.

( She also received an email)

transferapp007, I'm a transfer too (international) and found out about my acceptance this morning via email. I still can't believe it! God, this is so weird, a couple of hours ago I wasn't really sure about even staying in the states and now this. It's like my whole life changed within the blink of a day (not a legacy, not rich by a faaaar faaaar shot, didn't even give a crap about school until two years ago).

The anti-climax was calling my mother up long-distance call and realize she doesn't even know what Yale is :[

Oh well. I'm happy!

hm. when did they say we could start calling? tomorrow?

The 16th. Day after the deadline.
