Official 2008 Yale Transfer Thread

<p>So basically if we didn't get an e-mail by now we can safely say we are rejected?</p>

<p>eh i'm just kind of resigned at this point. never expected to get in anyway. if you want an actual answer, perhaps call in the next 10 minutes before the office closes?</p>

<p>so one person got an email and now we are saying if you didnt get one you are rejected?</p>

<p>So, just to be clear. Nobody got in last year without an e-mail, right?</p>

<p>^ yes because yale is so competitive that they accept 25 transfers out of 1,000 and it just so happens that 1 out of the 25 is on this board.</p>

<p>I got in!!
I can hardly believe it. I got rejected from Stanford last night so I was pretty down. I got an email this morning from Yale saying:</p>

<p>Your admission to Yale as a Transfer student for the fall term 2008 is assured. Our letters went in the mail today and you should receive yours in the next few days. The letter and enclosures should be self-explanatory, but if you have any questions please contact me at XX or 203 432-XXXX. My assistant is Marianne Arrigone and her number is 203 432-XXXX.
We look forward to seeing you here at Yale in the fall.</p>

<p>Christopher T. B. Murphy</p>

<p>wow! congrats!!! :) </p>

<p>now its official....to those of us who didnt get an email, its safe to say its time to move on :(</p>

<p>hmm the two cc'ers that got in are both junior transfers... maybe next year, then.</p>

<p>darnsers no sophomores so far. this hurts so bad.</p>

<p>hey, i was a junior applicant too :(</p>

<p>i'm sad. first harvard, then stanford, then yale.</p>

<p>juenatics, at least there's around 775 other students out there who are feeling exactly the same thing :)</p>

<p>juenatics...I feel your pain...at least Yale reviewed our applications unlike Harvard</p>

<p>First Harvard, then Stanford, now Yale...I'm just waiting for this letter.</p>

<p>Dear Trixee15,</p>

<p>We appreciate your application, upon completion of life, to Heaven. However, we regret that we are unable to offer you a Holy spot here. After much review of your life we have determined that through your continued failures and inability to get into Ivy League schools (such as Yale) we do not feel like you have accumulated a significant amount of accomplishments that would convince us of your worthiness. I am sorry to report to you that Hell, or No Man's Land are your other two options. We wish you the best in your eternal endeavors.</p>

<p>Sincerely,
Jesus C. </p>

<p>P.S. I still love you.</p>

<p>BUT YOU CAN ALWAYS REJECT YOUR REJECTION:</p>

<p>Dear Admissions Committee:
Having reviewed the many rejection letters I have received in the last few weeks, it is with great regret that I must inform you I am unable to accept your rejection at this time.
This year, after applying to a great many colleges and universities, I received an especially fine crop of rejection letters. Unfortunately, the number of rejections that I can accept is limited.
Each of my rejections was reviewed carefully and on an individual basis. Many factors were taken into account - the size of the institution, student-faculty ratio, location, reputation, costs and social atmosphere.
I am certain that most colleges I applied to are more than qualified to reject me. I am also sure that some mistakes were made in turning away some of these rejections. I can only hope they were few in number.
I am aware of the keen disappointment my decison may bring. Throughout my deliberations, I have kept in mind the time and effort it may have taken for you to reach your decision to reject me.
Keep in mind that at times it was necessary for me to reject even those letters of rejection that would normally have met my traditionally high standards.
I appreciate your having enough interest in me to reject my application. Let me take the opportunity to wish you well in what I am sure will be a successful academic year.
SEE YOU IN THE FALL!
Sincerely,
Trixee15</p>
