Official 2008 Yale Transfer Thread

I also got accepted as a junior transfer ! Being a little famous helped :) Though I got rfejected from Stanford... I'll visit Yale on Thursday.

Three CCers??? What is this!!!

(not saying that this is a bad thing, ill be applying next year)

Thanks for the injection of humor Trixie . . . This is going to be a long summmmmer

trixie...please say u will be at cornell next year because you bring humor to cc and help all of us remain semi normal

Unfortunately, I didn't get into Cornell either. Boy I am I feeling completely unappreciated. You all will have to fare at your prestigious colleges without me. :/

alpha and mag, come visit campus in June!!! I'll be around and can take you out and stuff. Congratulations you guys!

For those who didn't get in, please don't feel too bummed out. It says less about you than it does about the crapshootiness of college admissions nowadays.

haha wow Trixee.. hilarious... I didn't even apply to Yale.. but I did apply to Dart. and Columbia and will once again be in that rejection pool...

so.. if they only emailed those accepted, wouldn't people calling on the 16th all be rejectees?? now that feels kinda... harsh : but then again, we all know how tough the competition is.

congrats to the 3 (:

i found out there is a waitlist, although i'm not on it. good luck guys.

If everyone accepts that means no one is taken off the waitlist correct?

Not necessarily because they also wait to see how many freshmen/sophomores drop out

has anybody received the letter? Im not a big call in guy. heres to crossing my fingers for the waitlist!

frrrph, thanks :)
I'm looking forward to it but am also waiting on Columbia and Gtown...

heeeeeeeeey alpha congrats! how did u find out???

Hi everyone,

Congratulations to those who were accepted.

I received my rejection letter in the mail today. The postmark said May 13, so I guess they were sent out yesterday. I applied as a sophomore philosophy major. Not surprised by the outcome at all, to be honest. The letter said that over 750 applied, and apparently ~30 were accepted.

Good luck to you guys with the rest of your decisions. Remember to make the best of the opportunities that are available at whatever school you end up at. Your intelligence and motivation are much more important to your future success than which undergraduate institution you attend. The brightest, hardest-working students at state universitites can get far more out of their undergraduate experience than many students who coast through top-tier private universities.

i guess mine comes tom

any1 waitlisted

still no letter whats the frickin deal

Admitted students all got an email saying that their admission was secured and that they should expect the formal mail acceptance in the coming days. So....erm...well, thats pretty easy to deduce. Sorry, mate. :(

Since I didn't get an e-mail, it means I am automatically rejected lol...

Just got mail at Los Angeles.
Reject.
