haha man weird pool of yale transfer applicants this year huh

Undisclosed: "Would work for me.

Then again I'm apparently a notorious man-slut."

Haha...I'm notorious for saying inappropriate things...all the time.

okay HAS ANYONE VISIT YALE BEFORE?
is it worth it to make a trip to new haven tomorrow to speak to the admissions office + professors? from what i gather, the admissions office is full of administrative people and the real admissions officers will not be there...

Even if the admissions officers aren't there, it's definitely worth visiting Yale if you've never been. Sit in on a class, talk to the professors, have lunch in a dining hall. That way you'll know with certainty whether or not Yale is the right school for you. And even if you don't get in at least you've had the experience of spending a "student-like" day at one of the top universities in the world.

thanks speakout for ur response. but my schedule is very tight and i've to make this trip count. i was wondering if it's worth going, since it's already so late in the game. has any transfer applicant visited yale before? whats it like? did u get to speak to any adcom officer, and did it help?

Juenatics, simply put you will be severely rebuffed. Like speakout says, if you want to visit Yale at this point, it should be for the experience more than anything else. It will not help your application in any way. And you will not be given the chance to speak to any advisers who will have a say, remote or direct, on the transfer decision. You're trying to create an informal interview and that just won't work.

And considering that the adcoms are currently choosing the transfers, the whole thing seems very pointless if that is your only goal.

$0.02

I agree with speakout and undisclosed. At this point a visit would only be beneficial for fulfilling personal interest. I don't think visiting Yale is ever a factor in "gaming" acceptance (whether it be for freshmen or for transfer). Yale has too many qualified candidates to care about expressed interest.

yeah dude just visit if you get in dont waste your money

what do we have like a week til we hear?

thanks guys - actually i already knew it wasn't worth the yale visit but i just needed people to tell me that. haha. thanks. one more week!!!

omg i cant tolerate this wait any longer.
i hate this place.
I want to get out of here ASAP

haha agreed with charlesjeon. talking about the same school, too.

I would walk across the Sahara and wear a blindfold for a year if I could just find out from both of my colleges right now.

You should DEFINITELY visit, but not for any reason other than because Yale is a cool place. If you come around May 9, you can crash my couch!

lol isthisit are you a first year??

i called them and they said after may 16, you can find out your decisions by phone!

i didnt get an email! does anyone know if we should have online accounts for transferS??

WOOOOOO
'tis on the horizon. sort of.

They probably have a recording that just cycles through with, "We're sorry...We're Sorry...We're sorry..."

I'm pretty sure everything is paper with Yale.
(Well, obviously the e-mail wasn't. My e-mail simply said my transfer file was complete.) You got no e-mail whatsoever?

haha except I doubt they're sorry
maybe they've got a laugh track of some sort ;-)
