How do you know when they are to come out?

I received a letter last week saying that decisions would be announced via email on 5/15, after 3PM PDT.

Did the letter directly reference your application? A likely letter, perhaps?

^i’ve never heard of likely letters given out to transfesr, especially from stanford. but if that’s the case for sigoaqui, congrats! they just sent you a letter telling you what time it would be? seems so random lol.

Hello fellow applicants,

One week left! I hope all of you are finding peace in this time of anticipation.

It’s been quite a challenge for myself to let go of my expectations and to trust that whatever happens will be for the best. I’ve found that focusing on my daily routine of studying and exercise has helped me immensely, but at times, I still find myself feeling anxious as I await the decisions.

How have you guys been addressing the stress?

“Admissions decisions will be released by May 15th after 3pm (Pacific Time).”

No, not a likely letter. It simply states that they received my application and answered some questions about how many people applied, how many transfers they plan to accept, etc.

^ i didn’t get that 0_0

how many people did apply, and how many transfers do they plan to accept? thanks in advance, sigoaqui!

“This year we expect to enroll between 45-50 transfer students from a pool of over 1,600 applicants for an admit rate of under 4%.”

I hope all of you transfers get in.
It will motivate me soooooo much!

ZenBen,

I think it is natural to feel nervous anticipation at this time but I try to let it flow through me instead of holding me. I love going on long walks so I’ve been doing a lot of that, reading books I’m really into, drawing a bit, and I have a gardening project early next week that I’m very excited about. How about you?

Sigoaqui, thank you! Looking pretty positive compared to other years, considering they said they plan to enroll 45-50 students.

That means that they’re probably going to accept 53-60ish.

Hi Everyone,
I don’t usually post here, but the email I received confirming receipt of my documents read as follows:

I’d like to remind you all that information on this site should be treated with a degree of skepticism. Only information released directly by the institution should be treated as accurate. That being said, you can verify the information posted above by going to the Stanford Portal and clicking Check Application Status.

Ah, got that as well. Sooner than expected!

succulentgirl, that was beautiful. Thank you for sharing.

I’m also interested in gardening - especially permaculture and urban farming - and I’m currently working in a vineyard here in Oregon. Today, as I was pruning the newly-pushing buds on the spring vines under the warm sun, I thought to myself, “Whether or not I get into Stanford, in this moment, I am happy. That is all that matters and all that is real.”

It’s uncanny, too, that you said flow: it’s a concept I’ve been thinking and writing about a lot recently. I walked along a river last week with the idea of “flow” fully present in my mind, both physically as the river quietly flowed past me and metaphysically as I too let go.

Thank you for listening, succulentgirl. I feel you are one who is awaken and aware. I’m intrigued - what are you growing in your garden?

Hello, XXXXX -

^was that e-mail sent to you yesterday, or today?

So May 11 is the official date?!

I just received that email in response to asking them about it this morning

^okay, cool. thanks, mark.

Awesome. Thanks for the update, mark.

I wish the best for all of you. Whether we get into Stanford or not, we did our best and that’s all that matters.

I’m thankful for this application process because I learned just how much my teachers and family and friends support and believe in me, and that realization alone was worth the efforts of this endeavor.

Hard but wise words that my friend said to me: “If you’re not accepted, it’s because that’s not what the universe needs from you right now.”

Another side to that truth is that if Stanford is not the school we get into, other - and even greater - paths will open up. I truly believe that, and I hope you do too.

But those are thoughts for tomorrow and beyond. For now, I can only release my desires into the cosmos, trust that what happens will be for my highest good, and do my best to find peace in this moment.

Peace to you all.

On Thursday, May 10th I was waitlisted at University of Pennsylvania’s Wharton School and on Friday, May 11th I will be rejected from Stanford University. :(
