S is a semifinalist! Best wishes to all of the others and goodluck to the others who are still awaiting news! and yes, it was in the spam folder.

THANK YOU COLLEGE CONFIDENTIAL! Just happened across this thread and didn’t think about checking my spam for results of scholarships. Didn’t know that results would come out. I am a semifinalist!

I was informed that I was a semifinalist a few days ago and I just got another email from them saying that I didn’t advance in the selection process. I am very confused. Did someone else also receive an email like that? The email says

We have just concluded reviewing nearly 90,000 applications. It was a very difficult review process as there were many impressive applications in this year’s pool. However, with our limited resources we can only select 250 Finalists.

Although your application did not advance in our program, we are hopeful that you may qualify for one of the many other scholarships provided each year. Use the links below for additional information. Please pay very close attention to deadlines and eligibility requirements as they vary from program to program.

Same two emails for me! I just made a thread asking.
I’m nervous. Are you going to call them?

Agree with @mich5225: if you haven’t received anything yet, CHECK YOUR SPAM FOLDER!!

@collegemg;
Hope everything turns out okay, that’s so unfortunate.

My guess is if you received the first email, you’re a semi-finalist and the second email was a mistake. I only received the second email. Best of luck to all the rest of you who advanced! I’m sure you have great things ahead of you.

Can the selected semifinalist give us a stat for future applicant? My D didn’t get selected. I have a son who will apply a couple of years later.

@collegemg I just received an email stating, “Disregard any email that says you arenota Semifinalist.*If you created more than one application profile, it is likely you will receive an email saying you arenot a Semifinalist. *We are sorry for the confusion this may cause.”

Is this something that can be updated on the college early app haha? Semi finalist here btw

I’m a little confused because my email says I’ve been selected as a semifinalist, but it says

“By now you should have received our email, dated November 11, congratulating you on becoming a Semifinalist in this year’s selection process.”

I certainly did not receive an email around that time. Do you think this one’s a mistake?

@yummymushrooms, the same thing happened to me. I checked all of my folders but I can’t find the initial email–I only have the one with all of the attached documents. I just emailed them. Let me know if you find anything out!

Ha, I remember filling out just 1 page of this application, and I got the email saying I wasn’t progressing.

I wonder if they counted unfinished apps among the 90,00 applicants. Seems like they did, at least for me.

Yippy! Semifinalist in Houston, Texas :D

I was wondering if everything on the semi application needs to be typed or can it all be filled out in black ink? I might call them during the week to ask them some questions. Oh and I’m also stuck on the top ten list essay prompt? (can anyone explain to me what it’s asking?)

@Cuo2014 They should allow handwritten apps. I would rather write mine anyways. It feels more personal.

But the top ten list can be about anything. As I said in a previous post, creativity is key. You can take any category (favorite colors, songs, movies) and explain why they’re your top ten and how they portray you as a person. The question is, aside from your service and ECs, who are you?

Heeeeeey, and I got the email telling me to disregard the rejection letter. :)

my email crashed on my computer and i can not recover it from my internet email companion. Could anyone send the forms I need? I’ve filled all of them out except the student profile form B

Do you guys know if the 500 word limit includes your top 10 list? Or does it start from your essay about number 4?

OMG… I just recieved a letter in the mail saying i have been selected as a semifinalist when i had recieved an email a while back saying tht i didn’t make it. I just checked again and found out that i DID in fact make semifinalist but the rejection email was because i made more than one account… now I need to find a way to get everything done by december 27th!!

Hi everyone,
I’m a 2013 Coca Cola Scholar. Just wanted to wish you guys luck on your application. Becoming a Scholar is one of the greatest accomplishments of my life. It is a culmination and recognition of all your hard work throughout high school. The “Top 10” question is definitely challenging, but try to be creative and enjoy it.

Best of luck!

What is it asking for the top 10 list. I don’t understand what list they are talking about?
