Is it possible that they select finalists in part due to geographic location? Like, would they pick the top applications from each state?

Somewhere on the website it says that geography does matter and that they pick based on diversityamongst states so I would guess that they wouldn’t pick too many from each state

I just hope I’m not at a disadvantage due to my essay. Instead of listing a top 10 and writing the essay on #4, I described each thing on the list in two or three sentences, except #4. On #4, I described it in like 8 sentences. Otherwise, confident on all other parts of application.

That doesn’t seem so bad!! I think a lot of people did that. Certainly some on this thread too I think

Well at least you say its OK. I tweeted the scholarship page about it and they said the format is OK if my descriptions if they are very brief. I can’t change anything regardless because my packet has already been delivered in Atlanta. Next up is the January notification!

I sent mine on the 23rd! They said it should be received by Friday.
I told myself I wouldn’t wait until the last minute, and surprise!
Good luck to everyone!
(Hey, my first post ever!)

@Owlet14 yay congrats on the first post!! maybe its a good luck charm for the scholarship? haha

Also, I just received news that my envelope has been delivered this morning!!!
Now, just the long and anxious wait…

I mailed mine on Monday, December 23 with a delivery date of today. USPS tracking hasn’t updated since Monday. My envelope must be in limbo land. Ugh!

@mich5225, My daughter’s application was also mailed on Monday (late afternoon) and was delivered about 30 minutes ago. We sent it via USPS Express Mail, which cost a little more. Good luck. I hope your package is delivered today.

Does Coca Cola let you know if it’s delivered?

@jattkc I don’t think they do around this time frame but last year they did alot closer to the notification date.

@mich5225 that is unfortunate man I am sure it will get there by tommorow now that Christmas, etc is over. What type of mail did u use? I used USPS priority/express and I found out via the tracker that it is delivered.

We used USPS tracking confirmation to know that my daughter’s application made it. (like @matrixsurgeon)

Sent mine overnight on Monday so it arrived Tuesday. We had a tracking number the confirmed delivery. I’m just worried about my essay. I described each thing on my list in like 3 sentences. On #4, I elaborated in like 8 sentences. In total, it was 498 words for the whole thing. Apparently, the top 10 doesn’t necessarily count toward the 500 words. The 500 words is solely on #4. Just hope my formatting doesn’t ruin my chances.

@thesportsman24 stop worrying man. It is actually a good way of doing it even if it isnt exactly what they meant.

I did send it USPS priority mail and has a scheduled delivery date for today. I debated whether to send it overnight, but figured even with a Thursday delivery, if it went over a day, I was still good. I keep checking tracking #, but it hasn’t changed since Monday. Ugh!

@matrixsurgeon If you say so man. I mean, I believe I really answered to the topics they wanted like service and personality well. I’ll stop worrying and just wait for the decision. Thanks for your support and good luck!

@mich5225 We sent it overnight so then it would have three days from Tuesday to go through any processing. We noticed that on the checklist, so we sent it out with a few days leeway.

Here is my USPS tracking update:

Can someone explain to me how my package is out for delivery in Birmingham, Alabama? I did call Coca Cola today and they said that as long as it shows I mailed it with plenty of time for delivery, they will give some flexibility. Ugh!

woahhh it went to Alabama?

Our express package had signature requested, and a name provided that someone did sign for it. Maybe double check your receipt @mich5225 for the right zip code? Good luck! I hope it gets there tomorrow.

we had somebody by the name of M Youser sign for ours on tuesday. The package was delivered to 30314 even though all the mailing materials had 30313 with the exact address on our checklist.
