@crazynewton hey dude stay positive. no one knows! my friend applied the night before it’s due, so I believe she applied on the 31st of March.

I also think the decision might be sent out tomorrow. I applied to 13 other universities, and most of them released their decisions on Friday so that you can’t complain during the weekend.

@Ftgirl Yeah. honestly i think i was pretty under qualified, but NYU is really close with my High School and I have a connection there so i think that boosted me.

high school I had a 3.7 GPA in a NYC prep school (close ties with NYU)
I had a 25 on the ACT (but my high school is non testing so they’d understand that)

College first semester 3.0 at University of Maryland College Park
Wrote my essay about how I was born and raised in NYC and once i left i realized that i learn best in a city environment and that I could apply myself much better in the city by doing internships during the year, ect.

I also had a lot of EC’s in high school like sports teams, community service, mission trips, Internships at Barneys NY.

"Fall 2014: Housing for transfer students is not guaranteed. With the closing of Hayden Hall for the 2014-2015 academic year, we do not anticipate being able to offer housing to anyone who does not have a guarantee of housing. "

If you have not seen me on this thread before then ignore the name. This is my brothers account he used to transfer to rutgers. I was never asked to send in my midterm grades and never did. We’re we supposed to automatically? I called admissions at the end of April and they said they have everything and to just wait for a decision. This makes me more nervous now.

How can they do that? That’s pretty unfair if you ask me. Would it be cheaper to rent your own apartment (with roommates, as opposed to living on campus?)

Is this based on a first come first serve basis? If we apply by May 23, there is a higher chance that they’ll match us up with on campus living?

^I have called them and no it’s not first come first serve and they basically said there’s no way they would offer transfer student housing.

On campus would be cheaper. I did some research, for a decent housing expect $2000+ for 1 bedroom and ~$3000-$4000 for 2 bedroom to live in East Village or . Although you can always choose off-off-off-campus for cheaper price.

Sorry, I’m not really understanding - you said you already put down your $1000 deposit, but NYU said to only put down the deposit if/when they offer you housing? I thought you had already paid it. And isn’t it contradictory that you can get a non-refundable deposit back?
