I deposited it before I called. I know, so I don’t know what they’ll do. Will they charge me even if they won’t give me housing?

Also, does this apply at all to summer housing? Or just fall?

And do we have to apply separately for spring housing?

Just fall. You can still get summer housing.

And I believe you don’t apply for spring housing. So basically no housing for the year.

This really sucks. Living off campus would be so much more expensive…

I’m going to call tomorrow and ask about this housing application that seems pretty unnecessary given they won’t even “refund” us?

It’s not that much more expensive to live off campus you just have to look in the right areas. I am from NYC and my brother has had tons of apartments that cost 1,000 a month each (2,000 for a 2 bedroom) which isn’t much more than dorming. I met with a broker to look at off campus housing for around 2k a month for a 2 bedroom and there were many available!

^East village area?

@henryvli If you end up off campus don’t limit yourself to the east village. Everything is just a quick subway ride away. Even some of NYU’s dorms require you to take a subway or the shuttle over to class.

Based on the numbers in the article, it looks like none of us will be able to live in campus housing. :(

I’m looking for a roommate, whoever is interested PM me – I do want to live close to campus though (I’m not familiar with NYU yet so I want to be close for the first year).

Just found out that I got into NYU today! I’m an incoming sophomore. Wow, the news about housing is awful! I’ve never been to NYC before so finding housing sounds like a real hassle!

Is there a facebook group for transfers?

fill the missing *** with facebook . com

If you’re attending next fall feel free to add me on Facebook id love to know some people before classes start !

Hey everyone, I just joined today after reading through the thread since April 0w0 Congrats to all that were already accepted! I applied to CAS but haven’t heard back yes ;-; sooo, been on edge ever since the blog post went up >.< Good luck to everybody!!

I applied to CAS mid-February and still didn’t receive my decision yet… I think my chances are slimming down.

Do you think housing will open up later on?

@irisink @Incognito3 I am a CAS applicant as well and haven’t heard back… Do you guys know when we’ll hear back?!

CAS Applicant here.
It makes me really upset that they’ve supposedly already made all their decisions yesterday, and a lot of us still haven’t heard back. Even if it’s a rejection, I think we deserve to hear back in a timely manner. NYU was supposed to be the first school I heard back from, and now they’re the only school I’m waiting for.

@dmp398 Well they did say the majority of decisions were made on the 15th and that we’d hear back sometime during the next week >.>
