Official 2014 NYU Transfer Thread

Nothing… No change, nothing

Still nothing change:( I’m gonna lose hope… Why can’t they just give us something! I don’t think I can make it to the last day of this month.

Got accepted to CAS at 8:53 today!!!
Good luck to everyone who are still waiting.

accepted to CAS! they’re probably saving the best for last, so don’t fret if you haven’t heard back just yet! good luck!

I called the office of financial aid asking for any other alternatives to loans or to be evaluated for other scholarships, but they basically said no. I already got a CAS scholarship, but it just isn’t enough. I don’t think I’ll be able to attend. It’s so frustrating because I really want to attend NYU and even though I was admitted, I don’t think it will ever be a possibility.

It seems like on tuesday and thursdays there is the morning wave which seem to be mostly acceptances and there is another wave around 2:00/2:30 which are mostly rejections… do you guys think only rejections go out in the 2:00pm wave or maybe some acceptances too?
and congrats @ihatemycollege14!!

@wugyyy‌ Here are my stats:
Transferring from a Private Business School in Mass.
Received several awards for my academic achievements.
Three consecutive internships since 2012.
On the executive board for four organizations.
Two recommendations from professors who were like my mentors.
Essay was about why I wanted to transfer and what NYU could offer me that my current school cannot.
GPA was not amazing so I wasn’t expecting to get in… but my essay was heartfelt and I showed a lot of improvement academically so I think that was what got me in!

I hope you get good news!!! (:

Anyone know if any rejections were sent out today?

This has been seriously too long :(

Do you guys think there are still places for admissions or there will only be rejections left?

@rheeeea I’m sure they will still send acceptances. If they were just gonna reject all the remaining applicants they probably would have sent our rejections on Tuesday. Instead they are reviewing out materials and they certainly aren’t gonna waste their times doing that if they’re is no more space In the class so we should still have hope :)

Sounds reasonable! It just sucks to wait suuuch a long time. I’m thinking if we are on the waitlist… And I’m starting to worry about the deposit and guessing if it is because of no enough deposit that they can’t make a decision.

Yeah that’s true /: ughh but no matter what well find out tmr and no matter what the decision we won’t be waiting anymore and that will be nice

@dwarnock95 keep faith in heart and believe we can make it!

I turned in my commonapp on Feb 2nd. How can I not get anything so far??? No fa change, no housing change. It is just so mean of them to save rejections at last. I can’t believe they’ve kept me waiting for almost 4 months. Is it really that hard to reject a person?

I called NYU this morning and talked to one of the Stern counselors. He told me to wait for few more weeks and I was like “WEEKS?” They promised that they will release it within the month of May, and this is what we got. The other 13 universities that I applied to responded very quickly and ahead of the scheduled date.

@natand seriously? I thought the last wave or the latest we will hear the decision is tomorrow? Does this mean we have to wait throughout June? That’s…

Has anyone heard back about getting housing yet?

@niche13‌ was told that we will hear back this Friday for decisions on housing!

@ihatemycollege14‌ did you have any housing or financial aid changes before your acceptance? like did your housing say “Transfer Undergraduate” or “Non-renewable Undergraduate” tomorrows the last day of admissions being released and so I have to find out and my housing hasn’t changed to transfer undergrad its still just non renewable so im really scared lol
