OFFICIAL Amherst College Class of 2014 RD Applicants

I’d rather not. You’re feisty when cranky/sleep deprived.

I read The Lost Symbol marathon-style yesterday. It really didn’t impress me too much.

My mom is hxc into Brown… I haven’t read it - it seems a little too fad-ish for my style.

^Likewise, but sometimes it’s good to keep yourself attuned to fads. They often give you an indicator into what our societies like these days. On that note, the onslaught of vampire plots in our books, movies and TV shows is sort of ugh to me.

@Kiterunner: I was just watching your screenname during my essay break, haha.

The farthest I’ll go to indulge in vampires is TrueBlood, but I definitely agree that this has been the year of vampires. Frankly, it’s a bit excessive now. And, not for nothing Twilight is extremely overrated, and was terribly written.

Biting my tongue now. =]

I’ve never touched Twilight. I roughly know the story and unless Stephanie Meyer’s actual writing is much much better than her plots, I’m not planning to read the series.

In any case, I have a huge amount of reading to do between now and college. I wonder if I’ll have the time.

I’m sure you will.

Please don’t read it. I read the series out of boredom, and because my best friend had been begging me to (peer pressure!); needless to say, it’s a good number of hours of my life that I won’t get back.

True blood is awesome Drama.

Yay! Someone who shares in my love for it. I got into a really heated (but not very heated at all…that was just an exaggeration) debate about it with someone the other day. Obviously, the result was me coming out victorious.

Yeah, I caught most of the second season and got hooked haha. Can’t wait for it to start up again!

Hey drama, I sent you my science stuff, if you’re interested.

Ok, fully caught up on replies.

It must be said…We raped this thread.
:)

& as for Twilight…SCREW ALL OF YOU! TEAM EDWARD!

…

I kid.
:)

@Srrinath: I’ll read it once I finish up one of my essays. Thanks for sending it over! =]

@MM: …you’re so lucky I don’t hate Twilight as much as others (cough-QUASI-cough).

Dramaaa! I was kidding. Stephanie Meyer can’t write. But that’s just my opinion. And Steven King’s too, for that matter.

:)

I work at the mall, and my store is RIGHT ACROSS from the movie theater. Needless to say, when Twilight came out, all the obnoxious 14 year old tweens were in the store… annoying me.

Just a note: if I get into Amherst and the people going are like this group here, I think its definitely going to be a fun experience.

Yes! I was just talking to MM about that. The people on this thread have made this school one of my two top choice schools. Win. =]

(That sentence was worded horribly, but I’m so mentally exhausted that I don’t really care, haha.)

EDIT: Kiterunner, I am so incredibly sorry. It’s times like these when I’m glad I don’t have time for a job (my wallet, however, is not glad at all).

^ I totally agree with you Classicskid & Dramacratic

and it’s ok, dramacratic! the only thing that is more annoying than the obnoxious kids are my coworkers… but, heck, I’m making money - can’t complain too much!

If by people on this thread, you mean Twilight-haters, hell yeah! :D

If only Amherst could admit us all.

Frankly, I think it should.

Someone should call the Admissions Office once they return from their brief vacation. This person, of course, will not be me. Just saying. =]
