Sweet! My teacher was pretty great so I hope my prediction is accurate
@silverhawk5 how bad does it look if I get a 4 on AB Calc, 5 on comp sci, 5 on Art History, and 4 on WHAP as a sophomore?
@KG5APR I’m pretty sure you already know, but AP scores aren’t a huge deal in college admissions. Plus, there are very few sophomores who take four APs.
@KGAP5R not bad at all dude. You crazy? I got a 4 in freshman year and one last year on Bio. Don’t worry about it; AP exams aren’t everything. Just do your best and study hard and you should be happy with the result.
You do realize that a 4 is not a bad score, right?
Correct.
Here’s what I talked about in my essays:
-
Compared the artwork to Under the Wave off Kanagawa. Talked about how they were influenced by the Neo-Confucist beliefs of mind and body and how both artworks wanted to capture the essence of nature rather than its physical depiction.
-
Talked about Caravaggio’s Calling of Saint Matthew and his use of chiaroscuro and the rays of light coming from God onto Matthew’s face. I talked about how the chiaroscuro separated Matthew’s sinful prior life to what he is about to come. Contextually, I referred to Baroque humanism and the reaction of the Council of Trent to the Protestant Reformation in regard to Calling of Saint Matthew.
-
This one was obvious. When I first saw the picture, I confused it with the Colosseum. I hit the identification points spot on. I knew this was an Imperial Roman piece of architecture created in 69CE in Rome by Vespasian. I talked about its central plan, the accommodation of over a thousand spectators, the granite masonry, the arches, the columns, and so much more.
-
Talked about Impressionist characteristics such as observation of daily life, the sense of momentum, and ability to capture emotions through colors. I mentioned the Industrial Revolution and Romantic / Realist philosophy incoming as changes in Paris. The Industrial Revolution would increase productivity but decrease identity of the individual.
-
I did mention that the French relic attracted pilgrims but all throughout Western Europe due to the belief that the relic had the power to heal the sick. Both figures stood in an idealistic posture. The Cameroon relic (I BS’d this part) was used in African rituals and was used for public ceremonies rather than private worship that the French relic had.

Completely BS’d this question. I know nothing about the artwork because I rarely studied much contemporary artworks, and I’m sure that the AP readers are ridiculing my artwork. “Hey, you have to check out this guy’s essay. It’s so bad; let’s laugh at his inaccuracy!” I talked about racism (oh goss) and how they were finally being allowed inside the Louvre after long protests. And they were happy because now her future generations could enjoy the artwork in the Louvre. I talked about her outer floral design to compliment the serene tone, and the materials could be distorted for a different perspective of the artwork… I told you it was bad. DX
11.1% 5s, 22.6% 4s, 27.7% 3s, 27.6% 2s, and 11.0% 1s.
Not bad at all for the inaugural year!
I got a 5!
Me and my friend tried to self study but we procrastinated until April… And then we realized we had to much to cover so we kinda gave up a little… But we both passed with 3s
Passed with a 3! My free response carried my horrible performance on the MC. Not bad for the first year of the redesign.
