Anyone have the Barron’s 5th edition book? I have the fourth but I’m considering getting the 5th just because it’s newer

@futureuclabruin Usually the books don’t have any major changes unless the exam format itself was changed in some way.
For example, the 2008-2009 5 Steps book for Economics is basically the exact same as the 2014-2015 version except for 2 pages…
But for Cliff’s AP Biology 3rd ed. vs 4th there is a pretty significant difference because of the recent changes to the exam itself.
I would say stick with the 4th.

I bought the princeton review book. I also have an electronic copy of last year’s review book and a text book, PM me if you want the download link

Self studying as well, seems really easy. Ive only read the review book once and haven’t spent much time on this class yet because of my other APs

I have a question about the FRQ section on the APHG test. If you come up with an example that’s not in the scoring guidelines, does that mean you don’t get the points even if it’s right? I’ve seen multiple times where there isn’t (and couldn’t possibly be) an exhaustive list of answers. For example, for the 2012 question on walls, they only have 4 examples on the scoring guidelines, but if you knew something else (I don’t know any other one, but a quick Wiki search found me the Moroccan Wall), would you not receive credit?

@mathrom I’m sure that they will consider it to be correct unless you don’t provide any background information. If you just say, the Moroccan Wall, they may think you are guessing. But if you elaborate on the purpose of the wall and other details they may give you points. That is the best way to go if you think your example may not be listed.
Good Luck

Anybody know what maps we might be tested on?

URGENT: Does anyone here know of some website and resource that can provide me with relevant examples for FRQs as well as current events/trends?

I self-studied this and relied primarily on Barron’s, so I’m slightly worried.

@RishabC297 same kinda banking on a 4
is appass good for grading or is it outdated?

DaneBrick, I see you are taking both AP Gov and AP HG too. We got our work cut out for us tomorrow lol. AP Pass is somewhat accurate. -5 from your raw to get a more safe estimate. I will get a 5 if the FRQs are decent. With gov, well I know im gonna get a 4 because the scale is insane 95+/120, insane!
Well good luck!

yeah… i just finished reading the barron’s book, but i am taking AP gov and have taken APUSH and won three geography bees in middle school. do i have a chance?

also i didnt read the textbook.

@RishabC297 <a href=“AP Human Geography Exam – AP Central | College Board”>Supporting Students from Day One to Exam Day – AP Central | College Board;

@JennaSg You should be fine. However, AP Government/ US History will probably be less applicable than AP World History for Human Geography. Be able to recognize the models and vocabulary and explain them.

Also, this is probably too late for anyone testing tomorrow, but 5 Steps to a Five is pretty good and doesn’t have all the fluff that Barron’s has.

@JennaSg I don’t know. It’s really important to read the textbook; didn’t you read it throughout the school year?

You’ll probably do okay if you really study the barron’s book then, maybe read it twice. I don’t know about the FRQs, though. They’re hard (at least for me haha)

@BunnyMonster thanks for the reassurance. I just took the model test. got 60/75 and only two points off of each essay.

Lol this is human geo on physical. good luck

Good Luck!

human geo was not worth the self study ended up refunding at the last minute

@DaneBrick Why?? :0

Cause I didn’t have enough time to study yesterday cause of gov and I thought gov was a bigger priority
