@dopecake haha, I just started studying today.

i took a practice ap test today, did okayish. thankfully i had already read on most of the 1800’s because there was a crap-ton of that. hopefully the apush gods are kind to us and give us some fairly straight-forward dbq and frq prompts.

guys all you need to do is review the course enough so that you can get 70/80ish multiple choice right and then all you need to do is write an ok DBQ and pretty much anything for the thematics and you’ll get a 5

what is geta5?

@omnipotent24 Here’s the link:
https://www.getafive.com/ap-tests/us-history

You really only need seventy five percent or so and okay-ish FRQ’s and DBQ’s (sevens) to get a five! It is not too horrifying!

45% of the MC Questions are on 1790-1914. I don’t have much time to study so that’s all I’m studying.

Damn, that geta5 site is awesome. Why didn’t I discover that months ago…

ALL OF YOU GUYS CAN YOU HELP ME A LITTLE ON THE ESSAYS!

I taken ap global last year, so now I am a little confused on the essays.
Like the DPQ, how is it different is it from the global. Is it that we need to use more outside information and grouping them is sort of different. And how many of the documents do we use. And do we still need a good thesis?

And what about for the other two essays. How do I write those. Do I have to compare one of them or what. Please guys give me a answers

@APmaster007 , everything is virtually the same about the DBQ for AP world and AP USH except that in US you need to incorporate outside information (like 80%). As for documents, pretty sure you need to do at least half + 1. And yes you need a thesis. The other two essays will be just like the FRQs on AP world. You will most likely get an 2 sets of 3 FRQs, and you need to choose one from each.

But do I need to group the documents or it doesn’t matter. Because the this guy got a 8 and didn’t even group the documents http://media.collegeboard.com/digitalServices/pdf/ap/apcentral/ap13_us%20history_q1.pdf

I got a 60/80 on the 1996 MC. If I can reproduce that on the exam I will be very happy.

@APmaster007…There’s no requirement to group documents, and you don’t have to talk about an additional document needed. Don’t waste time doing that on the USH exam.

@BassGuitar…I did well on the 1996 exam too; they’ve made the exam harder since then though. I took a more recent one and didn’t do as well.

When doing the DBQ, do you have to cite the document you got information from? Or can you just seamlessly stick the information in your essay?

@kpalm1111 7/9 isn’t okay-ish on the FRQ/DBQ. I believe that’s more than twice the national average.

You have to cite it, but you don’t have to say, “In Document C, xyz…” you can just write what you want to and then write (Source C) at the end of the sentence.

Ohh ok, so there is no need to group them. And it doesn’t matter how many paragraphs there is, right?
I mean I am going to have an intro, a conclusion, and how many body paragraphs do you guys suppose would be good?

can someone send me the link to the geta5 everyone is talking about?

@simr2015 https://www.getafive.com/ap-tests/us-history

Was this an actual AP multiple choice? Seems too easy
