well i'm sure there was quite a bit of effort involved as well :)

Well, the perfect mixture of effort and miracle, haha. I'm just hoping this might be the something to push my application into the "accept" pile (and that they have somewhat generous financial aid to distribute this year..). I was declined by University of Michigan, but that was with only my first quarter grades (a 3.8, but probably just not enough grades there).

is there any way of knowing whether they've received all the required stuff yet?

i dunno. i haven't received any checklist or anything by email or regular mail. i am also wondering if not many people applied to transfer to brown this year based on our thread activity...

They're need-aware for transfers, so that would make some sense.

I seriously doubt transfer apps would drop that much because of that.

Two of the Brown students (myself and ClaySoul) who post on here were transfers who were admitted with aid.

and yes my pm box is full lol

Well it'd be cool if hardly anyone applied this year, but I just don't see that as very likely haha

I wish! I heard that since Brown is really hurting for money, a lot of students can't get the financial aid they need so a lot are transferring, opening more spots than usual...

crosses fingers for more open spots

i got two emails from the brown admission office this morning with instructions on logging into the application website to check for missing documents.

There are 1,400 transfer applicants this year for 120 spots.

Good luck everyone.

how do you know that, mayorbrown?

I saw the same article, Mayor. I am wondering how the other schools are stacking up?

“Applications for transfer admission totaled over 1,400 - a 40 percent jump from last year. The Office of Admission hopes to enroll 120 transfers next year, though the final number will depend on the freshmen yield.”

[The transfer tradeoff - Editorial](http://media.www.browndailyherald.com/media/storage/paper472/news/2009/04/07/Editorial/The-Transfer.Tradeoff-3699801.shtml)

so that’s like 8%? Not terrible but ehhhhh

I have a good question. Ok, first, im an international whos applyimg for transfer next year. This next year will be my freshman year at a univ in my country. So basically, im applying for sophmore year. The thing is, I have a 3.0 gpa in highschool. Will one year (or semester for that matter, since deadlines are in march) give them concrete info on whether or not i should be admitted. I really dont want to have to wait an extra year. Any thoughts? im sure I can get near-straight to straight As

waiting can only help your chances

So Ive been told. Can I apply for transfer more than once. Like, if i dont get in next year as a transfer, can I apply the year after???

Woo see all of you there next year…we got this

yes you can lobzz
