@orion222 well… Harvard, Brown, Caltech those schools admit a few of students. Not much… For Brown, less than 10 percent, but other those two are 2%…, everybody knows it is chanllenging. we are just trying! For caltech, I haven’t open the letter at the web-site. I would like to open them altogether.

so is the general thought that they announce it on monday?

Seems that way, but that information is 9 days old or so. I’m going to call Monday morning if we don’t have an email by then and see how it looks.

thank you @browntransfer99! i called on friday but they were busy

So far I have Rice, Cornell, UVA, UMich, and UIUC. Brown would supplant every school on this list…

sitting in a secluded place at my current campus, moping and studying for a calculs final on monday. My heart is totally broken after being rejected by Harvard and Dartmouth. Trying to hold onto every bit of hope left. Yet the prospective of returning to my current school next fall is terrifying!!

Brown, I implore you to save me!!! :(

Please, Nightwisher. No rational person would have a broken heart after being rejected by a college that accepts the top 1% of the top 1% who apply for transfer. If you were serious about transferring, you would have made reasonable choices when applying.

you are absolutely right. But Dartmouth was so so close, they even called me twice. I’m just devastated because I put an incredible amount effort into this. Im an International student, so safe schools are not on my options list, as they don’t offer generous financial aid to international students.

I hope I’m not sending a negative energy to everyone. I just wanted to share my frustration with you guys!

I feel your pain. I am an international applicant as well. I haven’t been called by anyone so I’m not sure what that means.

There are a few cheaper options, though (depending on how much aid you need). I picked UNC Chapel Hill as a fall-back.

No offense, but if you were really that close to being admitted, you would have been waitlisted.

Also, Brown isn’t generous with financial aid for transfers. Not sure where you got that idea.

Everybody makes the safety schools for thier back-up such as NYU, UC Berkeley, BC… Nobody knows the admission for Ivy leagues or any top private schools.

UNC-CH is good too, because it’s full-freight rate is sometimes as good as financial aid at one of the top ones.

Sorry guys! I forgot to say…

I called Thursday afternoon and asked whether they would release the decisions next week, and the man said yes. But after I asked if it would be Monday or Friday, he paused for a few seconds, and then said he couldn’t tell an accurate day, and that they would send us an email about the notification date and instructions on how to check our decisions when it becomes available… “before mid-May”…

@Semifinal lol you call NYU and UC Berk safety schools!?

@hopeforthebest94 so basically we find out sometime next week? that’s all we know?

Last year they were mailed out Monday and a man named Frontium was the first to post his decision on Tuesday. Considering it is online now, we may likely know - tomorrow-!

hah I knew I wasn’t the only one who read through the thread from last year. That would be AMAZING if we hear tomorrow. I’m so ready to know at this point

And the man named Frontium is an international! lol I’m just trying to give international students, myself included, some hope

I’m just waiting for the frenetic bursts of posts. I’m totally jumpy/bemused/frazzled! How are you guys holding up? I only applied to Brown and ill stay where I am if I don’t get in.

I go to NYU and I only applied to Brown and USC. Brown is hands down my first choice and I love it…this is my first time applying. If I didn’t get in I’m not sure what I’d do, but I’d probably stay here too. At this point I’m kind of going crazy to be honest I want to know so badly haha
