@mmb294 No, I am not applying through RUE. I graduated high school last year. I went to college during my senior year and I’m technically a sophomore at my current institution and will be graduating with an associate’s next Friday. However, Brown (and all the other schools that I’ve applied to) will only take the credits that I’ve taken this year, as my senior year college credits don’t count. So I will be entering as a sophomore.

So can we go back to freaking out now? I mean that was nice and all but our “fates still hang in the balance” and our resident poet said X)

oh yeah that doesn’t ever really go away…for me at least hah

i am a new member, just signed up. i have been looking at this thread every 2 hours since the last month. i got rejected from dartmouth, and brown is the only other school i applied to. i am an international student, currently going to a top40 4 years liberal arts college in US. i have become so anxious now, that i failed my intermediate Spanish midterm and got a 50%. i have exams from 11th, and i am super scared and depressed. i am sorry, i just wanted to get this out. i also called brown and the said: “our goal is later this week, but it can also be early next week.”

Keep going. The end is in sight mjip11!

except NOT because no one knows when the f we actually hear anything ughh

I can’t decide if that makes it worse though. This way we can at least try and forget about it and assume it’ll be next week. If we have a finite time then the hour counter starts and time crawls more.

actually I know what you mean. I really thought it would be today and that’s exactly how it was

i dont understand why they couldnt give us a specific date. could have saved a lot of phone calls and anxiousness.

For the same reason they changed it from “early next week (Monday)” to “before Mid-May”…they simply don’t know yet.

@mjip11 Exactly. I just received an email from JHU yesterday saying that we would be able to check our decisions on May 15. Actually this date was already indicated on its website like at least three months ago. I really appreciate their kind-heartedness. I mean Brown will definitely release the decisions before May 15 right? Why don’t just tell us an accurate date even it’s a few days late, instead of torturing us and getting tired of answering so many phone calls?

would it be too much for someone to call again today? I’m sure they’re getting a better idea of when decisions will be released

They are probably really tired of answering this question, but honestly we’re all getting a huge break after this is over. I’d say go nuts, I wouldn’t mind if it was me picking up that phone as long as you’re polite.

okay well after reading this forum multiple times a day, checking 2012 thread and being extremely well…impatient… im ready to know my decision!!! at this point itll just give me peace of mind to know what it is. i got an email from columbia last night and they are releasing decisions tonight at 5pm EST…hello brown…where is your email???

I don’t think it would be unreasonable for someone to call them

i would… but i’m too afraid to get some sassy lady who is mean, then i will feel bad! I made my boyfriend call yesterday and he said the man was really nice…but really vague

They can’t have too much left to do at this point so they should be starting to know when they can release them

you should call!

okay I just did. They’re really nice (like every time I’ve talked to them) and the guy just said that “it might be this week it might be next week” but that he couldn’t tell me any more and they still have some stuff to work out but their final deadline is May 15th. Soo…still nothing any more specific but it will be before the 15th. :/

dang it. i wanted my decision from brown before columbia…theres NO WAY im getting into columbia
