^^ @Nightwisher: Which calculus class are you in?

Also, I called last week and the admissions counselor explicitly told me decisions would be released today. A bit disappointed to say the least.

I hope they were just saying they would be released this week/early next week to be cautious and they actually can get them out sooner. I can’t handle the anxiety of waiting on top of finals for much longer hah.

sorry to double post but could that possibly mean their information changed from last week?

It will be soon. Tomorrow or the next! They are just be cautious, I can feel it. Everything we know points to there being some last minute delays. It won’t be long.

@browntransfer99 I agree I think that makes sense. Even though I won’t really be able to relax until we actually get the decisions, that makes me feel a little better

After having talked to admissions on the phone today, I would say that decisions should come no earlier than Thursday. I think they have Friday as their goal, however.

hah it seems like we all called today

It reflects well on the admissions office that they put up with so many similar calls, and did so very politely.

@app2013 I agree, but I do wish we would get our decisions back sooner. I really thought it would be today.

@transva12 Calc II. please don’t judge me. I have been out of high school for couples of years. plus the transfer anxiety took great deal of study time.

As I said earlier in this thread, the admissions director when I talked to him assured me that decisions will be out today. But you guys right, they are running late and doing everything they can to give us the decisions as soon as possible.

Lets change the topic and get loosen up: Is it true that Emma Watson is going back to Brown this Fall? :)

@Nightwisher I personally think calc 2 is the hardest, at least in my school. It’s definitely harder than lin alg and I thought calc 3 was even easier than it, less stuff to memorize. God that would be awesome to be in a class with her, although I’ve heard she’s really snobby and hangs around people with fake british accents. Still, imagine having a group assignment with her or something? That would be pretty bomb.

10 points for Gryffindor!

I thought she graduated this semester? No? Here’s another topic, what are you guys interested in academically? I’m a physics and english/creative writing guy myself

I wanna learn to sail boats…how far away is Newport?

Public Health major here should I be so lucky

RE: Ms. Watson she just returned this spring

I applied under the MCM concentration (Modern Culture and Media) and probably want to do something in music business or communication. I have an internship at a music business company this semester which hopefully supported that

@yolocholo Newport isn’t that far away, maybe like 45 minutes tops (which, if you’re a Rhode Islander like me, sounds like a long ride, but it’s really not.) Plus, Brown students get free bus rides through RIPTA. :)

I’m double concentrating in Art History and either French or Gender and Sexuality Studies.

LeCouer, with all due respect, what do you plan to do with that after you graduate?

Right now, I work in the creative side of the fashion industry in Rhode Island. I would like to start my own magazine focusing on the sartorial aspects of the art and fashion industry, or work for a publication in New York City or Paris (hence the degree in French.) I put a lot of thought into applying to vocational “fashion” schools or pursuing a degree in business (mostly due to my parents wishes), but I value education far too much–besides, I’ve found that I’ve learned more from experience through business rather than taking business classes. Art History definitely places an emphasis on refining an eye for aestheticism, which is inherent to my job. Besides my professional goals, I thoroughly enjoy research in the subject and wouldn’t mind going after a PhD. That, or just go for a Master’s in Journalism, lol.

Sorry for the long-winded response. I get the “Why are you majoring in THOSE subjects and not something practical?” very often. I just found something I was passionate about.

@LeCouer are you RUE? If not what would you be entering as?
