Official Brown Fall 2013 Transfer Thread

call at 4:50 pm and it’s going to be the end of the week

Haha, Brown Admissions Office is so procrastinating! Even though I did not make a lot of posts on this thread, I have been following it for over a month. It was nice reading about people who are on the same boat as I am. Hope you guys and me all the best! And yes, no matter what decision each of us might receive, we still have a wonderful life ahead.

I just called them and they said by the end of today

OMG!! 5 pm.!! That means 4 pm in here!!!

At 4 pm (CST) I have to present a research to a committee and the president of my university. I hope I’ll able to focus on my presentation rather than thinking about my Brown decision and this thread. I think I should call in sick or reschedule this presentations!!! lol

Hey everyone. I’ve been following this thread for a few weeks now but I’ve been too lazy to sign up so I can post :stuck_out_tongue: I called a few minutes ago and was told that decisions would be out by 5pm today. It’s probably because they want the acceptance packets that were mailed out to be available at the same time as when they open decisions online.
I’m really nervous about hearing from them. I don’t know if I can handle a rejection haha. My mom suddenly and unexpectedly died last month and I hate the school I’m in. My boyfriend goes to brown and I’ve Visited it many times over the past two years and love it. Getting accepted would make my life so much easier. I was going to apply to more schools over spring break but then my mom died and I missed deadlines for most mom-rolling admissions schools. Hoping to be receiving a package in the mail today!

Nightwisher: 5pm EST means 6pm CST. I’m in the same time zone you’re in. So don’t worry–it’ll be there once you finish your application. Go and kick its butt–I know you’ll do fantastic!

Jayla93: I’m so sorry to hear about your mother. I admire your strength and courage. I hope everything turns out the way you want it to! Fingers crossed. :)

^5pm EST means 4pm CST

Didn’t they say we could call today and ask for our decisions?

Has anyone actually called to ask for a decision or just to ask when the decisions will be available online.

I asked for a decision and they said that it would be out by 5pm today.

Never mind they’re up now!!!

Oh my god it’s here i got in i love you all

Decisions out!! Admitted!!!

lumberjack23: Yeah, I just realized I was wrong. Ahaha. Also, congratulations! :D

kevlarmusicmojo: Congratulations!!! :D

I’m on the waiting list. It figures–I’ve spent so much time waiting, the fates just wanted me to continue waiting…but I haven’t given up hope! This was actually a lot more than I was expecting, so I feel a bit happier.

Congrats lumberjack23! I got waitlisted.

Denied! Haha. Thank god I was admitted to Georgetown first or this would have killed me lol.

Good luck to the rest of y’all!

metathesis: Welcome to the Waiting for Brown boat. Have some fish. Ahaha.

seekingcollege12: I’m sorry to hear that. But congrats on Georgetown! :)

Sorry for hyperventilating above haha. Thank you all. Congrats to everyone for challenging yourself and applying in the first place. Can’t wait to meet the admits, stay in there waiting list folks (gosh, I’ve been through that before), and I’m sure those of you who didn’t get in will go on to do great things elsewhere!

It feels so nice to finally have my acceptance presented in writing! I spent the weekend convincing myself that the admissions officer read my file wrong and that this was all too good to be true. I still have to wait for the University of Pennsylvania and I’m waitlisted at the University of Chicago, but I think I’m headed to Brown University, no matter how everything else turns out!!! Congratulations to the rest of you!!!

Rejected…needed tons of Financial Aid, busted my butt on Brown’s app, and thought I had a shot. Aid is definitely a big part of the decision it appears! Easier in the end that I never had to choose between Stanford and Brown…Palo Alto it is! Congrats to everyone admitted! I’ll be back for grad school applications…

Yes!!! Accepted!
