So, I see there are more and more posters looking to transfer to BU (as I am myself) so I figured I would make an "official" thread. I am planning on applying for the Fall 2015 year as a sophomore.

I am currently taking 15 credits at my local CC, and I have 17 credits lined up for next semester. I am currently taking:
Philosophy, American Gov, Freshman foundations, English Comp I, and Intro to Mass Communications. Next semester, i'll be taking Psychology, Intro to Sociology, Biology/Lab and Contemporary Math, and Speech. I am a part of our Film club, communications club, Rotary club, and I am an academic tutor as well.
My highschool GPA was a lackluster 2.9, but I have my reasons for that and I plan on explaining in my essays.
How do my stats look?

-bump-
So, I managed to get a cumulative 3.6 GPA for my first semester. That got me on the deans list and an invitation from Phi Theta Kappa. My goal is to have a higher GPA for next semester.
I’m on the fence about applying there for my junior year. Do you know if they have a good physics/math program?
I’m also applying to around 20 other schools…
This happens to be my first post of any kind
Im in the same boat, Im looking to transfer to BU undergrad for neuroscience, I had a HS GPA of 2.82 I know, and a community college GPA of 3.72 and a Phi Theta Kappa honors member. I did cross country, Indoor/Outdoor track in high school, one semester of chess/math club in college, I come from a low income family so I work with my father a lot painting to pretty much pay rent/bills. I’m planning on taking the SAT because other schools require it.
Is it possible for me to get in? I’m also a first generation student.
good luck to you mislyBB in your process.
I would say so ValdiJ64! I had a very similar HS stats to yours; I had a 2.93 GPA, which is obviously less than desirable. Keep us updated in this thread!
does BU wait until spring grades are official to start accepting students or will they only look at first semester gpa, I know they see mid term report but I dont think that carries as much weight as the GPA
I am not entirely sure, but they take into account your first semester, as well as your midterm report for the spring semester. I don’t think their decisions are based solely on what your final spring GPA is.
