Haha I know…I know. I just want to hear from them so badly! :)

Another freaking week ;_;

I just want to hear my results before all the tests and stuff this week :[

I agree! I can’t even think about Christmas or buying presents our asking for presents! My mind is just so focused elsewhere

If one was to get deffered, when would he or she get the next decision?

Around March is when RD results come out, so around that time I’m guessing.

I got accepted into Ohio St so I got that going for me, which is nice

Where do I check my application status? (I know it’s not up yet)

Wolverine Access

Log into your Wolverine Access page, and click on “Application Status”. For me, there are two links there now, View Application Data and View Credentials. As I understand, once your results are updated, a third link will appear - View Decision. But you might get an email about it before then.

Where else did you guys apply?

I was dumb and lazy enough to not apply anywhere else early… Really regret that now, especially since all the results are coming out this weekend. Really wish I applied to MIT EA, it’s my #1 dream school by far, and their results are coming out in less than two hours. Well, now I gotta wait a couple more months.

@Ivan Same. I really should have done Uchicago EA. UofM is the only competitive school i’ve applied to. I like having my options, so I kinda regret it. I’m considering applying to some additional schools, but I only have like 2 weeks. I’m kinda lost.

Several students from my school last year all applied on Oct. 31 or Nov. 1 and they all got in EA. I believe they all received their decisions around 3 in the afternoon on Dec. 14 which would be in the first wave. I really don’t think when you submit your application has an impact on whether you’re deferred or accepted.

last year, some people received their decisions in November. Is it because Umich was rolling decision last year

That was several years ago. Last year no one received their decisions until the 14th

ummm, I personally know someone that received their decision before Thanksgiving

It is possible to get a decision before mid-December if you apply RD. Since RD is rolling, if you applied on Nov. 2 it is possible to get a decision faster than EA applicants.

when is the first wave???

Thanks for the support, but I don’t think you understood my message properly… I know that applying to MIT won’t increase my chances at Umich. And where do you get the idea that MIT is an “uber reach”? I get that it’s a reach for everyone, but I honestly think I have as good of a shot as the average MIT applicant (of course, that’s still very low, but it’s something). And yes, I do have several other matches, but I’m still fairly sure I’ll get into Umich. We’ll see in a week. The “couple more months” were referring to MIT RD.
Edit: The post to which I was replying disappeared from the thread for some reason…

Im hoping I get accepted within the next couple says, but I am not really sure due to the high rates of defferals UM likes to put out. If I do well on m sat2s and get deffered by Uchicago (hopefully), I’ll apply to some other top schools with te two week break. Maybe EA desicions will come out Wednesday. If not, that will be torture…

@headed2great - check with your school for transcript rules. It may not be possible for you to apply to new schools during winter break unless you’ve already sent in your transcript. In my school, you cannot request transcripts between December 20th and January 6th, so you have to decide 100% where you’re going to apply before break starts.
