oh wait, i didn't know what the list was for, i just wanted to be in. i'm already in public hs. nvm, cross me off the list

maparent - thanks for your response. We heard more or less the same numbers on Winsor apps and slots...not very encouraging.

if i get rejected from all of my schools (nooo!!!!) then im going to see if i can get into an NYC private school like hunter or trinity. if not, then public school 4 me.

Iluva's : Did you give any thought to Dalton or Spence.... my sister taught at Dalton and their programs were excellent. Their college counseling was unbelievable as well as their success rate in college admissions. I know you are looking for the bs experience, and I feel relatively sure you will have several choices in that arena, however, take a look at these. I think you know that I only allowed my son to apply to two schools as a day student in NW CT since I am not prepared to send him off to bs yet. My experiences with my daughters taught me that the involved day students have all the advantages of the boarders, but still get to have the love, nurturing, and counseling of parental involvement not to mention home cooked meals and a comfy home and room! My S has applied to Taft (a long shot at best) and Gunnery which my younger daughter attended. He is anxious as well but since neither school posts on the web, and he leaves for a community service trip ot Mexico on the 11th, he wont find out for at least 2 more weeks, poor kid, LOL. GL to everyone again. I am still hoping a couple of those posters are around that had interest in Westover. With all the people I know here involved in independent schools including my own personal bias, I have never heard of any real complaints and most people rave about their experience there.

I feel extremely stupid for asking this but, what is rolling admission?

These were just judged by your names for the most part

i've noticed that the most academic-unrelated names like chevvy and kissmekate have the best chance. chances based on our names? u are quite the prophet.

well lets see if they turn out to be true. but look, didnt that esahopeful (last year's version of wantascholarship) get into like every single school including exeter and andover?

6...more...days...

i SO LOVE YOU!!!!! haha
my night prayer includes :get in to my schools...as long as i get into exeter and andover....that's all i wish for....though getting into all will be great...but those top two...

and then i fall asleep. =)

I am no prophet, I am merely a Sitting Bull, not the indian, a sitting bull.

ill keep that in mind ;)

iluvas, i just saw esahopeful's stats for prepschool, and MAN HES NO MATCH FOR ME 0-0 this guy's loaded with amazing stats....

haha sittingbull, it's nice you think i will definitely get in, although i really have no idea why my name would give you that indication but, let's just hope your right.

I'm not sure who asked what rolling admission was but, I saw it up there. It's where there is so set dealine. They're good schools to apply to after the March 10th desicion if you don't get in to your hopeful schools, because there is still a chance as there is no deadline.

SIX DAYS!!! AHHHhhhhhh....

dont get pessimistic, wantascholarship ;)

With me, I think I'd rather be pessimistic because, I'd rather go with the thought that I won't get in and be surprised rather then think I will and be majorly let down... but then again, I did only apply for one school. I'm scared that I'll be so upset I won't have the energy to apply to my safeties if I dont get in. I really hope that doesn't happen, maybe I can like, write myself a note now saying that I have to no matter what, and then I'll read it if I don't get into Cate. Yes, I'm a loser, but I'm worried!

oh, add me to the list! i'm applying to six schools.

esa did have good stats - however, many people with 99th percentile and participation in as many clubs/sports as time allows did not get accepted to some good schools. it just depends on what the admissions committee is looking for (i mean, do they really need another amazing piano player when they already have five? what is the applicant's "hook"?)

wow, less than a week. i don't think i'm going to check online. i'm kind of old-fashioned, so i am just going to wait for the mail, just like everyone else does. even if that means i might have a panic attack, i'll have to wait.

Hmmm... i wonder if Cate makes it possible to check online. I'd probably do it, because otherwise I'd have to wait until the 17th =|

eklektist- good chance

your just hilarious. it's killing me, your comedy is.

Hey thanks, I appreciate it.
