getmeintogroton: i think you've got a pretty good chance. then again i'm not an expert on it or anything.. but you've got alot of extra curriculars and if you think the interveiw went well, then thats really great.

haha chevvy ur right i ought to be pessimistic. five more days, wow, where did the time go? someone earlier mentioned that its scary to think that our decision letters are already sealed and ready. im sure that for a few people, thats not the case, but i think that they have already made up their mind for the majority. creepy, indeed. hmm, is it too early to bump up "boarding school results"??

hotchkiss, miss porter's, choate, lawrenceville, taft, peddie.

everyone, what was the worst part of your application?

mine was the reccomedations. i just HATED going up to my teachers. you see, no one at my school applies to boarding school, and most of the teachers stared at me blankly before saying yes. except for my math teacher, was used to be a high school teacher popular with seniors, and before that, a teacher at Brearley, and she has done a thousand recs in her life. but the others were like, huh? youi're applying to boarding school? god i hated that. what about u?

i just wish i had better essays. i was procrastinating, and i had to write all of them at the last minute. i think i admitted my stupidity by confusing a word on my personal statement essay, and my hotchkiss essay was TOTALLY IMMATURE. but well, its too late now. :(

me too, wantascholarship! lol i was embarassed to remember.

i am awfully bored. my mom pointed out that since they mail out the letters on march 10, u will get them later than march 10. but didnt some kids actually get the letters on march 10 before?

ILuvA's... I know what you mean about the recs! I'm sure my teachers wrote good recs but, It was so akward asking most of them. But, the hardest part for me was probably the whole SSAT thing, because my score came back pretty low. The easiest was deffinitely the essays/personal statements on the application. I'm extremely happy with the essays, because they show alot of who I am.

I'm only applying to Cate, but I'll apply to a few safeties on rolling admission if I don't get in...

The essays were okay with my application.. one was certainly better then the other though (Exeter had to have 2 essays, Andover -just one.) But the worst part of my application process was the personal statements on Andover's application! I found those really difficult! And what I wrote on them wasn't that exceptional..

Oh, and speaking of asking about reccomendations! I went up to ask my guidance counselor to do that one and basically had the same blank stares that you guys probably got.

Ahhh! Only FIVE days till March 10!!

Another thing, does anyone know if Andover or Exeter post the decision on the web MArch 10? (I know Choate does.. [on the personal account..] but does A/E?)

The blank stares were terribly akward weren't they? I tried to fill in my teachers as much as possible but it almost felt like they thought I was weird or something. Oh well.

Am I the only one applying to a school on the west coast? (as in, California or nearby states?)

not that im not close to my teachers, but they were just all really surprised that i was applying to boarding school. they were really nice and all that, but all still had question marks in their eyes.

Sadly, not everyone will get in where they want. I know what it feels like, and you must really be wanting these schools. However, if you don't calm down now, you will be hurt pretty bad when you find out that you didn't get into the school you wanted so bad. Yes, while it feels really good if you get in, rejection is a tough emotional blow for all walks of life. I hope you go on with your normal life. 8th grade is a time for painting and building treehouses. Remember that these schools don't want kids who worry excessively about decisions. They want kids who just like to do what they do best in their freetime. I hope you take these words into consideration, as they will make it easier for you.
