General Comments: im really happy i got in

your counselor hits on you? wonderful.

i wish my dean hit on me.

he is like 400 lbs and from arizona.

wow what a hottie.

anyway, to the point, go everyone who got admiitted. i have a quick question... how many of those who got admitted are either catholic or white? i read recently a very disturbing report that Georgetown is very racist in the EA pool... can I see if there is any validity to that?

i don't believe that for a second. just look on this page, snowfaerie is Hispanic (very qualified) and others in this thread are minorities as well. I personally applaud Gtown if it only lets in those who can do the work rather than desperately seek a certain percentage of this that or the other demographic.

aside from babybird's implicit renunciation of affirmative action, I agree with everything she says. I'm Jewish, and I got in EA.

haha, sharky, you agree with everything secretly

Well I'm white... and...catholic. Well, um... yeah. I prove nothing.

I really doubt that Georgetown is racist, though. Take a look at this:

African American 7%
Asian American 10%
Hispanic American 6%
Native American <1%

This was from the admitted students last year. That means that Gtown is only approximately 76% white.

I'm Jewish too and I was accepted EA.

I'm white and Catholic. Georgetown is looking for diversity though, so I would think that they would want to accept as many people that aren't white and Catholic as they can.

1) Personal Statement: The concept of "Gold Mountain" and its affects on my ambitions. Peer reviewers ranged from: good, but saccharine to excellent; Teachers who reviewed it: excellent use of prose ( former AP Eng Lang Teacher) to maturity (French IV)

2) Why I want to go: The location of Georgetown and the "fourth credit" option; my goal to use the education I receive and apply it to restore the image of politics.

[]Teacher Recs: My French teacher (has been my French teacher for all four years); she told me she wrote 2 pages to cover all aspects. Undoubtedly helpful.
[]Counselor Rec: My college advisor is wonderful; she was also my Alg II teacher also. She has known me for three years. Wrote an excellent recommendation.

Previous college coursework included attending community college during the school year (and in the summer). I am also currently taking a chemistry course at California State University, San Bernardino (Chem 215 this quarter; Chem 216 next quarter).

General Comments:
Looking at numbers, I should not have been admitted. My SAT score is perhaps the lowest of all admitted students (on this board); many deferred students had significantly higher scores. However, despite my low scores, it is with conviction that my coursework at different colleges and universities (earning As in all of them) helped me greatly; it demonstrated that my SAT Is were simply not a reliable factor in determining how well I will do at the university; my college classes proved that I could do well.

[ul]I had a really great interview; we talked for nearly two hours. My mom's a legacy, I'm sure that didn't hurt. No one else applied early from my high school, also.
[/ul]

General Comments:I thought my weakest points were the SATI, lack of APs (I'm taking 4 this year), and class rank, but I guess I shouldn't have been worried. I'm very very happy about being accepted, and there's probably a 95% chance I'll end up attending (the only reason I wouldn't is if I get into Harvard, Princeton, or Yale, which almost definitely won't happen).

wow...your interview was 2 hours? mine was more like 30 mins...now im worried i didnt ask enough questions or something...was everybody else's interview that long?

a 1470 weak!?! I'm offended......lack of APs?!? I'm again offended (I take 4 also). That sh!t is good, buddy. Don't know what you're complaining about

No, no, I'm sorry - I didn't mean it that way. I simply meant that I think it could have hurt that I am only just starting to take APs as a senior when they were available as a junior; I didn't take any AP classes or tests before this year, so there were no APs on my app. I'm not complaining about my SAT, I just think my app would have been a little better with a higher score (and, unless you have a 1600, isn't that true with anyone?)
