Official Georgetown transfer thread fall 2013

I think we will hear some decisions this week and next week will be big…at least that’s what I’m hope for/

sophomore transfer, Arabic major. I wish we would hear back soon!

Finally glad to see an active thread for G-Town 2013 transfers. I only applied to Georgetown and kind of threw my application together last second. Surprisingly my essays in my opinion turned out quite well.

Reading through these posts it’s discouraging to hear that G-Town isn’t accepting a lot of transfers and McDonough (where I applied) looks more competitive than ever. Also I’m about to close a great opportunity for an internship abroad this summer and I was thinking about sending an email or note to update my application. I am an intended int. business major and I know work experience plays a key role.

Has anyone had any success sending in additional info during the admissions process?

It seems the majority of us heading to MSB this fall!!! I’m praying of course ! God willing!

Hey toujour, what school r u attending now? Where r u from?

@yagiboonjota MSB junior transfer, what about you?

Think I’m the only person on here applying to Nursing & Health Studies - planning on international health…

@NOVAtransfer you currently going to NVCC or just from NOVA?

Still attending NOVA, how about u?

how do we hear back? do we get an email?

That’s how they’ve been doing it in previous years. I think they do send an official letter of your acceptance/rejection via snail mail as well.

Just called Gtown’s undergrad admissions office, asked about decision release date, the answer was June 1st…

Jellybabe, what is your major at msb???

@NOVAtransfer2013 I’m transferring from a top 50 institution. the main reason I’m transferring is because my current school (a private liberal arts college) does not offer Arabic as a major. I’m from Singapore, but I’m a US citizen and I’ve lived in 6 countries.

Great! Good luck.

Nothing so far today?

I just had a thought. My reader emailed me today telling me he/she had everything that I was told that I was missing about two weeks ago. Why would he/she email me today if I was going to hear back tomorrow? This might mean we won’t hear for another few days and he/she told me they had my stuff so I wouldn’t freak out and call or email them repeatedly. If I’m wrong, then I’m very fine with that, the sooner the better.

^Georgetown doesn’t send out acceptance letters all at once. They do it over a period of a few weeks.

It would be really strange if they didn’t begin to release their decisions sometime this week.

I am sure we will get something tomorrow, or the 2nd at least.

^I hope we start hearing tomorrow. Does anyone know if they sent the emails last year in the morning or afternoon?

@Pdquaker

One of em from last year got it 9pm EST. Weird.
