I'm applying as an AA in Liberal Arts completer with a 3.1 (lots of A's and and B's with a D that I screwed up in). Regardless of which, I applied having heard people getting in with worse situations and people getting denied with almost perfect standing.
Let's all talk about our chances and how it sucks having to wait! When the time comes, we'll all be here to share in the triumph or defeat.

It does suck having to wait…it feels like forever

I know @HP2775 do you think they will release our decisions early April? What are you applying as? GPA?

I’m not entirely sure While looking at old JMU transfer threads, I got the impression that transfers received their decisions mid/late April…
Applying as a freshman with a 4.0 GPA. Not exactly a competitive applicant (no associates/ lots of credits). I feel like you have a shot since you have an associates!

I emailed their admissions office and just received an email that said “All applicants will be notified of their decision in early April through their MyMadison account in the Applicant Center”

@HP2775 Oh wow… the pressure is on now. I’m sure we’ll get in!

I hope so!

@HP2775 what did you put as your intended major?

I put interdisciplinary studies. You?

Does anyone know when the transfer decisions will be coming out? I know regular decisions have not come out yet, I’m assuming they will come out around Friday this week. Would transfer decisions come out after that?

@HP2775 I put Economics, some people put down majors that are non-competitive intentionally because they think it helps, I have no idea if it does or not.

Hey, @deedee917 I just heard from a counselor that they’re actually well ahead of schedule, so regular decisions MIGHT be sent out next week, but I’m bot sure. Transfer decisions follow directly after the regular decisions, usually.
They always say early April for regular and mid/late for transfers but I guess it might be sooner for us. How exciting! What are you applying as?

@WeWillSeeIGuess ohhh I thought for JMU it did not matter what major you put on the application because no one is really being admitted into a certain major, just the school itself hm… I think it’s fine though!

It says on the mymadison page “JMU IT is anticipating an increase in the number of users accessing MyMadison.” So the posting of decisions must be soon for freshmen!

@WeWillSeeIGuess I’m apply as Communication Sciences and Disorders major. I’m currently at Longwood University and I have a GPA of 3.1 so I don’t think my chances of getting in are very high but I figured I would give it a shot. I applied last year (senior year of high school) and I had a 3.4 GPA and I was denied admission.

Saw this on another thread: " transfers; I just called them and the lady said they were ahead of schedule with transfer applications and that we should most likely see whether we’ve been accepted or not next week" !

@HP2775 wow, that would be awesome if we could just hurry up and find out!
@deedee917 You have a good chance, I know they want to see a good ammount of credits for transfer students – or an Associates; however, they may see your name and recognize your desire to get in!

@HP2775 So next week?!

@deedee917 that’s what the person who posted it said so I guess so! It still feels far though, but it’s better than mid-april :/

I hate this waiting game. I was a terrible student in high school, but now that I’ve gone to PVCC and gotten my Associates I’m just ready to go to an actual university. JMU is the only school I’ve applied to. So hey, why did you guys pick JMU? Where do you plan on living?

Same here… It just sucks how transfers don’t get an official date of when they’ll be notified. I was actually supposed to go to JMU last year! So that’s why I chose JMU again. Nice campus. But I also feel like it’s the only school left I’d be willing to go to… I wanna live on campus for one year. What about you @WeWillSeeIGuess?
