The new Real SAT Subject Tests book which was released in early May and which I have has a full biology E/M test. It's from Nov. '98, I believe.

Can anyone explain this problem..

15.
Graph is here..
http://img175.echo.cx/img175/2181/biology1pr.png

Known numbers of seeds from two species (X and Y) of
annual plants are mixed together in different proportions
and planted in five small plots of soil in the spring.
The plants grow, flower, and produce seeds. It is found
that the percentage of seeds of species X and species Y
in the harvest is usually different from the proportion
that was planted, although the total number of seeds
produced is the same as the number of seeds planted.
The data are plotted on the graph below.

What do the data indicate about the ecological
relationship between species X and species Y ?
(A) X and Y are mutualistic for low percentages of X
seeds.
(B) X and Y are mutualistic for high percentages of X
seeds.
(C) X and Y compete when both X andY seeds
are present.
(D) Y competes successfully against X at all
percentages of X and Y seeds.
(E) X is parasite of Y when Y is rare.

oh c'mon guys... the test is tomorrow

somebody?

bumppp.... .

didn't read the stickies. commented a little on the difficulty of test... sorry guys can't tell you :p!

your kidding me.. MORE HARD/RANDOM than barrons!?

i dont see why barrons bio practice tests are perceived as random/insane! i thought they were very straight forward, and mixzillion times better than sparknotes!!!!!!!!

anyways good luck everyone.

im sorry for totally spammmingly double posting but i had to share this.

Bio SAT II Curve: Here it is.

Here are the curves out of the Real SAT IIs by college board.

Biology-M (The E Curve isn't too much different, a bit more generous)

80 800 79 800 78 800 77 800 76 800 75 800 74 800 73 790 72 790 71 780 70 770 69 770 68 760 67 750 66 750 65 740 64 730 63 720 62 720 61 710 60 700 59 700 58 690 57 680 56 680 55 670 54 660 53 660 52 650

Remember, the curve changes with every test, but this is your best estimate. Please no more posts asking what your score is if you missed a certain amount.

thanks to pentasa who originally posted this!

Curious to see what everyone thought of the test this morning? What were the data questions about? Any stuff on plants?

Kaplan book is awful. There is too much AP stuff on it. Way too much detail.

did you take the test littleg?

I'm a tutor and have lots of kids taking it this morning. Just want to know what was on it.

done with bio!!!!!
I took the E section. IDK how i did, but it felt fine.
I remember one question about plant. it was an easy one.
a couple of data questions. 3-4 sets i think.

i took E too. it felt okay, although i was mistaken to gauge my skills with the sparknotes test :P the one this morning felt quite a bit harder.....god i hope i did well :( i felt pressed for time...had to leave a couple blank.

i also took E, felt pretty good about it

E as well, and not too bad!

oh well how long should i wait?

Watch out. The embargo has not yet been lifted.

Several of us have made this mistake because we forget it's 10:00 AM Pacific time.

:)

That just means don't talk about the questions yet.

I took M.. anyone else take M?

I took Biology M.
