Official March SAT Math Discussion 2008

this was probably an easy grid in question but what was the area of that rectangle with a triangle hooked on the bottom?

i didn't know if the height of the triangle was exactly 2 or not...and i forgot the area of a trapezoid during the test...sad i know..

^ the area was 8

tomackze: i'm not questioning the answer, just the wording of the question.
if it was two reflections, then i agree with you. but i'm alomst positive my test just said: "which of the points above is the result of when point p is reflected across line m", i don't remember reading that there was a second reflection

The area of the 5-sided polygon was 8. The rectangle had an area of 6 and the triangle had an area of 2.

could someone draw a pic of that? i remember the rectangle being 6 but idk about the triangle

yeah, duchess26200 thats the same thing i saw.....unless it looked like this:
"what is the new point when reflected over m
and then over k"

we could have misread it if the description of the second reflection was on the next line. does anyone understand what i'm trying to get at here? and does anyone remember whether this is how the wording of the question actually looked like?

no you don't seem to understand my question lol...

i meant that for me, A and B were switched...

so basically the picture that i provided has B where A was and A where B was...

basically that drawing made is connected to point B instead of Point A..

What was the answer to the college questions? Like two different technical colleges and stuff...and was it grid-in or mc?

1200 was the answer for college

does anybody remember the I, II, III question that i asked? sorry im just on my way out and its really bugging me.

it was I and III, or E

was I and II an option?

What about the one where it asked about the function being moved to the right two.
Was -4 a choice?

i think it was 2, 1, 0, -1, -2. can't be sure

I think -2 was the lowest number within the answer choices.

yess i put the lowest 1 i just didnt remember if the lowest was -2 or -3
if it was -2 then thank god still have a chance for 800

so I guess we never really got a consensus on the books problem then? lol.

The math section with the pyramid with all the sides being 1 and stuff-- was that the experimental section? It's the same section as the question about the effectiveness of the crops for farming if that helps you remember what I'm talking about.

ihatesats2, yes it was -2

thnx apples
and for ur question
i had that same question and it was a math experimental i had no idea how to do it but w.e duznt count
