Official March SAT Math Discussion 2008

how about the one with the greatest difference ...88? it had to be more than 90 but less than 180

Also, can anyone explain the carrot, onion questions?
I'm pretty sure I either A or B (I think the one where the ratio of profit to amount of land was about 2:1)- I think the one withe the 11% profit out of $400

88.
and it was ____ and then carrot, for the two graph qs in order. anyone know the first one? i thin it was $40?

it was $40 and carrots

btw, did u get 185 on the book one or 195? anyone mind explaining?

i got 195. the question said that 150 people went to the book fair. each person bought at least 1 book. 5 people bought 3 books, and 35 people bought 2 books. How many book were bought in total? its 195 if you do all the math. For some reason i remembered this question.

Edit: oh yeah i remember reading the words exactly too

wait and what about the 3 to 2 ratio with boys and girls
and i think 185

yea i dont remember that one

i thought the most profit was onions?

most profit/ acres was carrots
onions 14% of 400 acres, made 24% of 600000
carrots 5% of 400 acres, made 11% of 600000

so carrots are more profitable

going back to the books question - was it a grid in?

books q was not a grid in
5(3)+35(2)+110(1)
that's 195

ratio of boys to girls was 11th grade right?

books was a m/c i believe

i got 11th grade

i got 11th also

i don't remember $40 q

which one was the experimental then? i suppose...that the section with the pyramid is it.

my experimental was a critical reading section

armcherry do you remember what questions your experimental section had?

I had a bizzare one about this triangle, I eliminated to between 8 and 9, and picked 8 I think.

Can't believe I got the books one wrong :( Can anyone explain how they arrived at 195? I don't remember the question all that well.

Also, there was one about a triangle within a circle, what did people get for the hypotenuse?

Which math section was experimental? Could you mention specific problems to identify it?

Hmmm, I think it had one with two parallel lines interesected, and you were trying to find angle "b" and were given a/2 + 7 for one and then a + 20 for another angle. And I picked 122
