It will archieg! I have faith you. The first semester is an adjustment.

I just hope they see that, you know?

I’m really studying my butt off, little things here and there (going out, relaxing) are getting trimmed in favor of STUDY STUDY STUDY!!!

But its only for another month, then I get a break.

Another thing is, I also got a work study job at the law school: I REALLY hope they take that into consideration.

They will. Doing things for the community and USC is also an important consideration. Good Luck!

My final point of concern:

I took 2 Annenberg classes, as I’m thinking about minoring Comm (but regardless of if I minor in it or not, they sound interesting).

Today I got off the phone with someone who works there (pretty sure its a student worker) and she told me they don’t like it when people take classes for other majors as a “backup” for in case they don’t get into Marshall.

I just really hope they don’t look at it like that… I’m REALLY concerned, as I’m not taking it to major in COMM, just found those classes interesting so I took them.

Did you write about that on your internal transfer application? I would not take a students comments as fact.

Besides, if you have a successful internal transfer into Marshall you can perhaps you can use those communication units for a minor.

I don’t know why, but I just feel like everything a student worker says turns me into a nervous mess.

But everything an ACTUAL Marshall person says makes me a little bit more confident.

Trouble is, there’s only students there! lol

I turned into a nervous wreck, which is why I’m posting this.

Do they look at upward trends? I mean, with the way this semester is going to end (2 A’s, 2 B’s, at least) it seems that these are the grades that got some of my friends in with.

But the only bad thing is, that was their first semester; my first semester wasn’t as hot. So I just wonder if they look at those upward trends (upward trend is probably what got me into USC as a transfer in the first place. lol)

Anybody wanna read my 300 word optional statement? lol

archieg, PM it over :)

and i’m sure they’ll take the upwards trend into consideration.

archieg They will absolutely take an upwards trend into consideration. Perhaps you need to mention that in your optional statement and say what you learned from the experience. PM it to me and i will read it too.

Thanks guys!

I’m really confident I did MUCH better this semester. Now I’m just waiting not only for the decision (which will come by\on June 10 this year) but also for my grades. lol

Thanks to all! And good luck!

AND IF YOU ARE AN INTERNAL TRANSFER AS WELL, PLEASE POST!!!

FYI, you can find your grades now in OASIS under “Completed Class Summary”

Yup!

B+ in econ 252 and linguistics, and A and A- in my comm classes.

So I just found out I got rejected again. ***

Pretty disappointed. Tomorrow I go find out why, and if I have another chance.

Pretty sad, seeing as how the lady told me that my chances should be good as long as I do well…

For me, its Marshall or bust. I dream of being an accountant, and I want to do everything in my power to get in.

The first time, my fall semester, was pretty bad, I admit (C in elective, a withdrawal, a C- in econ 251, and an A- in TV symposium) but this semester was much better, and they said if you do good in 252 you should have a chance (and I got a B plus; apparently not good enough?).

I dunno… kinda bummed out, but I’m looking forward to fall… lol hopefully I’ll get in for spring 2012.

How did everybody else do? Any applicants here?

What were your GPAs if you got in?

Awzz, sorry archieg. Gotta think that bad fall semester’s still paying back. How did the meeting go? I’d hate to think they’d hold out a carrot for admission if it’s not attainable, and your spring grades are definitely respectable.
