What a great game last night. I think we’re peaking at the right time.

Who would have thunk it a yr ago that the Terps will make it to the NCAA tournament and at this time UNCCH will not be invited to the dance?

I love the fact that Gary Williams has proven to the rest of the collegiate world that if you are a great coach you don’t need to start to recruit a student when they are in 8th grade to have a winning team. He has taken a lot of hits because of this, but now the critics are silent.

bullet, I totally agree!

Gary Williams is the most influential coach I have seen, and terps basketball is going places.

WE WANT DUKE!

That was a nice win in 2OT…as exciting as these close wins are, I prefer the blowouts. Much easier on my nerves.

Bring on Duke. Should be able to keep it closer this time.

Well, I can finally breath again! What a terrific game, by both teams. Grevis being Grevis, proving once again that he deserves the ACC player of the year title. Just by the fact alone that he took a team that has a few very good players (but not the “ready for the NBA now, one year and done” types that populate a lot of other teams and conferences), put them on his shoulders and lef them to second place in the ACC.

Bring on the Dookies!

I wonder if Dickie V will rock at Comcast on Wednesday? Biggest ACC game of the year, and his favorite team he spends so much time gushing about will be there…

The game was a masterpiece from beginning to 20T end. I kept thinking both teams deserve RESPECT, both were brilliant, but in the end we have the “W”. I think we’re believing now and are ready to play the Dukies. An upset would be so sweet.

It came down to this: Hayes and Mosley hit their free throws, Malcom Delaney for VT missed two in a row right at the end (and he’s 85% from the line all season). I think the Terps thrive under pressure, which makes me excited for the tournament. As long as the game is going, they always make you think they can win it.

Greivis. Jersey. Rafters. Must. Happen.

^ Definitely.

Was anyone else as upset by the refs during last night’s game as I was? Especially in the first half. I was going off in my house. I was SO mad. I counted like 5 straight VT possessions where MD got a foul called on them. And the one play that really sticks out in my mind was when they called Mosley for a blocking foul when it CLEARLY was a charge. I thought I was gonna have a heart attack after that call.

Bring on Duke!!! I have a feeling Greivis will do something special in his last game at Comcast.

sooo excited for the duke game! my friends and i are already working out our line schedule, good thing is i only have 1 class on Wed, so i’ll probably spend my afternoon outside comcast but so worth it!! we’re even getting free t-shirts for the game GO TERPS!!

I always feel so bad for Duke when they come to UMDCP. You guys supposedly have the reputation as being the worst school towards visiting teams. I remember last yr the school made news for giving out the hotel where they were staying and calling all night the rooms of team members.

I think you also all were masks too of one of the players everytime he was at the free throw line.

I hear UNC fans are meaner than us to Duke.

I do remember going to the Duke soccer game my freshman year and we started chanting the goalie’s phone number…and then his girlfriend’s phone number.

That’s just mean! Although I did find the chanting N-I-T at the end of the UNC game pretty humorous… At least I’ll be able to watch the game…since the VA tech was delayed, they didn’t show it down here. Lame. No question that the Duke game will be on in NC!!!

We are now “RANKED”.

See, I always prefer it when we’re not ranked. But it’s impossible not to be ranked when you go on a 5 game win streak in the ACC. Let’s make it 6 on Wednesday!

I agree, I think UMD always does better when they are the underdogs. When they are expected to win, even a throw away game, they either lose or it is so close that it is ridiculous. When they are expected to lose they pull a giant upset. This seems to be a UMD tradition, because they are like this for football too!

I can’t remember the game last yr that they made the front page of the WaPo sports section with a pic of them storming the court. I think it was Duke. I just know I have it kept in a box somewhere because in it you can clearly see our DS.

I hope they beat Duke, but I think realistically it won’t happen. I also hope they don’t use those spinners, I want them to win fair and square. Those spinners are distracting to me when I watch the game, I can’t imagine what it is like for the players. It shows lack of good sportsmanship.

Last night on Sportscenter, the basketball analysts were choosing their proposed college player of the year…who had the most impact on the team, etc. and one of them picked Greivis! Wooo hooo! On the same sportscast, they all confirmed that UMD was no longer “on the bubble”…they’re “in”! I’m hoping for a great showing against Duke. (And plan to wear my MARYLAND sweatshirt around town tomorrow, just to underscore!)

It was Hubert Davis. Except he pronounced his name wrong like “grievous” and called him 6’4.

It will be his last home game and an opportunity make an imprint that could go down in the annals of MD basketball history. I predict he shows up and has the game of his life and that we beat Duke at the buzzer with a GV half court 3 pointer. LOL

This is an exciting game so far… let’s go Maryland! I’m chanting along with the fans who are in Comcast tonight. :)
