Oh yeah…that’s what I meant ^^.lol But they are looking to increase the amount of OOS students they have.
I have a question though. When they say you need a 3.3, is that weighted or unweighted? I know you provide them with both but which do they consider? My UW is still higher than the requirement, I’m just curious :0

It is unweighted. From what I understand (someone can correct me if I am wrong) Ohio State looks only at unweighted. They also do NOT superscore any tests.

Thank you! My counselor told me they look at both for acceptances, I just wasn’t sure for the scholars program. Toni messaged my sister a few days ago telling her that she already reviewed the first group of apps this week and she’s starting the second group next week. Exciting/Nerve wracking!!!

I logged into my MSP account and got a message encouraging me to apply for the honors/scholars program. Did everyone get this same message? It said something like, “Many of our current MSP students are in the honors/scholars program and we think you might be a candidate …” I assumed it was a message sent to everyone but thought I’d check. It was posted a week or so ago.

They look at both GPAs for the scholarship…I asked Toni haha

Getting my essay reviewed by a teacher thursday and plan on submitting it over the weekend, then this process is over. I can’t wait

Looks like today might have been the first round of admitting students to OSU. My daughter got a call today congratulating her on being accepted to OSU and then I looked on her account and it was updated to “admitted”. Wonder if those admitted early will find out a decision on their Morrill application early as well? I can only hope so. Anyone have an opinion?

I don’t know but it would be wonderful if we would! I have a feeling it will be a long wait. :(

The people who were notified of admittance on nov 10 last year and also got the morrill were notified the first week of January. Not sure if that was true in every case.

finally submitting my essay tomorrow.

This is likely a dumb question, but is the Morrill strictly for minorities/underrepresented? I could present the front that I am a mixed minority based on a race, but I have always considered myself caucasion for purposes of identifying myself despite only one parent actually being caucasion?

Nervous: technically, it is open to everybody but I think minorities, students from appalachian counties have historically been given preference. I would bet first generation and lower socioeconomic status probably factors in…

Did anyone receive an email from Toni today about being gone for the week, thanking you for submitting your application and saying she would talk to you next week? D got this so I am wondering.

Yeah I got that email and so did my sister. She sends it to everyone who applied I’m guessing(:

Lol, that is what I thought but I am so paranoid I had to make sure!

Yeah, got that email too. Maybe I’m reading into it too much but I’m wondering if that means we will start finding something out next week. Why would she say “talk to you next week”? I can hope, right? My D is admitted and her Morrill application shows “review” Did anyone not already admitted get this email?

I haven’t been admitted and I got the email too. The status on the MSP application also says review. I wouldn’t think too much of it, but you’re daughter should because she’s been admitted. She’ll most likely find out soon if she got it!

Our daughter has been admitted and she got this same e-mail. I wish it were true that she would hear about the scholarship soon but I kind of doubt that will be the case. She periodically gets e-mail from Toni apparently just checking in, that she finished app, etc. Good luck to everyone who has applied and Happy Thanksgiving!

I guess the email was a kind way of telling us they won’t be available over the holiday.

So, when do we find out?? Anyone have any idea? I think saw someone say possibly January. Ugh. This is hard.

Yes, the waiting is very hard. It is my understanding that if a student has been accepted AND submitted their MSP app before Dec. 1 that they will be reviewed and should get an answer in January. Those who apply after Dec. 1 will hear in March.
