if someone could help me decide and can im i have msn its thatoneotherguy@live .com it would be easier to im than be waiting a day or so for a response i really need to get this over with. pls and thx

Hey mate, just because people are willing to help doesn’t mean it is an obligation. With a math score of 26 you’ll want to take either trigonometry or pre-calculus, whichever you feel more comfortable going in to. If your general field of interesting is aimed towards science and engineering, you’ll want to take hard sciences such as a physics and biology. You can also take English as that will be necessary for any degree. AS at Mt. Sac also requires a phys. ed course.
Mt. Sac’s website should offer an articulation of what you need to do to complete your AS.
And you want to web register for your class.
I’m in a rush so I can’t offer specifics at this point, sorry.

i dont have msn, but this thread is checked/updated almost every 2 hours from someone. i check it everytime i jump on my comp and there wasnt anything there last time i did.

but you still didnt tell us where you want to go…as in transfer to

but here is what we can help you with…

eng 68/hist are good starting classes. unless you feel you can place into a higher english class. go ahead and keep it. keep history for IGETC, it covers area 3.

since you dont know what major you want to pursue just yet, keep covering GE classes that transfer. like…socilogy/psychology etc. social sciences… phys. ed

as jetlogic said, you could take some hard sciences for your intended major, just be aware until you decide what major you want to go, you may take some unnecessary science classes.

but if you figure it out you can take those science courses and kill off a major pre-req and an area of IGETC as well.

and leave it. you are registered for the class/waitlisted
if you want to drop it, then you would pull the drop down and click drop, submit changes and you will no longer be in the class

Any recommendations for Eng 1A professors? There’s so many…

thx u guys really have help me out. but it wont let me register for trig. it says prereq. not met. should i call mt. sac or what would u recomend i do? and about the drop down list i’m suppossed to choose “web registered” right? just want to make sure

Are you sure you took the college math test and got a 26? Go to your portal, click student, then go to #14 which should be assessment results. Double check your score

@thatone- call mtsac tomorrow about it if you cant get it to work.
and im not sure what you are asking about the “web registered” section…screen shot would help… or if you arent sure if your registered. click the student tab and check under “print my schedule”

@blackmamba - yea there are a lot haha…id just check with ratemyprof. i took prof olds and she was extremely hard, but i learned a great deal and it was honors. well worth it.

ok so here are a couple of screen shots of test scores i got and the registration page. can anyone tell me if i’m doing it correctly. and theres a picture with the tabs so that u guys can see the options. Do u know if i need to choose any or leave it as it is?

just leave it :)

and as for the scores…you should be able to take trig.
if its still not letting you register due to pre-reqs, call in and find out whats going on

ok i’ll leave it and thx for making sure it’s correct :)

i have another question about being on the waitlist… but im not sure if its answerable… T^T
im #6 right now on the list for biol1 w/ Hollenshead and I checked the detailed info for the class and it says it’s all full ): (capacity of 60 seats with 0 available)
do i still have a chance to get in ): ??

yup chances are still really good IMO.

ok i’m kinda confused on the payment of fees. do i have to pay for the classes im registered or on waitlist by this friday? and after this friday will i still be able to register for more classes or is friday the last day? And can i pay all of my fees through the mt sac portal?

oh and about trig still ownt let me register. what department should i call? is it the counseling dep. or somewhere else?

id say call the placement test center.

as for payment of fees…i know the rules have changed so im not quite updated on them. as far as i know, you have to pay fees for classes you are registered for. not waitlisted. it would seem farfetched to be paying for a class that you arent even in yet haha.

you will still be able to register for more classes. and you can pay all your fees through your mtsac portal :)

but just in case…id call into the admissions department or wait for jetlogic to give his input. im not 100 percent on that one.

You only pay for the classes which you’re currently in. You can register for classes up to like September 3rd. You should see a decent amount of sports open up on Friday, so try to get classes then.

For the trig, you should contact counseling or assessment center, as Dainese said.

ok so for now i dont have to pay since im waitlisted? well thx for your help dainese, jetlogic you guys have helped me out more than my counselor in hs lol i really appreciate you helping.

You don’t have to pay for the waitlisted classes, but if you are enrolled in any, make sure you do pay for those by Friday.
And it’s no problem at all, Dainese is the real helper, I just offer a few comments :P

Hey guys, just a heads up that there were some false off-the-waitlist-so-you-can-now-register-for-that-class e-mails sent out. Apparently there was some sort of error and the school accidentally sent them.

I’m pretty ****ed off. It told me I could now register for macroeconomics, so I dropped Sociology 1 in order to register for it. However, I could NOT register. Looking at the Mt. Sac’s facebook fanpage, there are several other people who have been getting this error. Mt. Sac claimed that they sent a second e-mail out notifying people of the error, but I got no such thing… I called and they said I probably can’t get the class back. flippin’ ridiculous.

Actually you should be fine. If you got that e-mail, it means that unless the people who haven’t yet paid for macroeconomics pay for it by Friday, you’ll get a slot.

@thatone- np, glad we could help. be sure to join honors when you can and talk to linda diaz. she is the person that will really help you :)

@renouveau- whats your waitlist position for macro? could you even get on the waitlist?

man that blows…what a scam haha. atleast it wasnt like UCSD who sent out acceptances to rejected students.
as jet said…with this new system that a LOT of people are unaware of…im sure classes are going to start opening up on friday lol
and if worse comes to worse, im sure you can easily get back on with soc 1
