**OFFICIAL Mt SAC CC TRANSFER THREAD**

^ Wait like another week or so and it’ll show under final grade.

if she said she posted it already, it may be on blackboard. but usually it takes about 2 weeks after the semester to get your final grades on myportal

Ok ill wait. Yeah i checked blackboard but only one of my classes is listed there and i already know that grade because i emailed the prof.

@moon9kittie yeah a counselor told me they’re trying out something new…to avoid people from crashing classes the first day cause it gets so crazy…so they make their waitlist pool bigger. btw i got super lucky and got all the classes i need  just english is at a bad time…hahaha

Grades are up…

Hi all,
heading back to school after 20 years out of HS and 12 years since taking any college classes.

Where I plan to transfer to: Cal Poly Pomona
Major: Political Science
GPA: n/a
High School: Toms River HS North, NJ

Starting at Mt Sac this January for the Winter Intersession. Excited to be making this commitment for myself again but man walking around the campus made me feel old.

Deana

@dfabiano - welcome! :)

its never easy going to school, let alone coming back haha
hats off to you. CPP is very connected with mtsac, so they have a great transfer rate.
i dont know much about CPP, but i know people who do.
talk to linda diaz in the honors center or crystal in the transfer center.
they can most certainly help you plan out what you need to take etc.

but first, take the placement tests (math, eng, chem) if you havnt already.
if you have questions feel free to ask :D

so much for the drop date…

Did anyone have any luck?

now really…they look the same :(

I know right…
My waitlist spot for Trig went from 8 to 5, but I’m pretty sure that happened before the 8 o’ clock deadline. Otherwise it seems about the same.

Not sure if you guys have figured this out yet, but quite a few people did get dropped. It’s just that not many of the people on the waitlists have taken their spots thus far, so the classes don’t appear on the “open classes” list when you search for them. A better way to see what classes opened up would be to search through all classes including the “closed” ones. Although it doesn’t seem too many spots opened up, it should give some of us a chance at picking up some wait lists as the top waitlist people register for classes. Good luck everyone :)

I thought Math 61 was after 51?

It’s Math 71 right? Since it’s allowing me to waitlist

@speakbraille: You really got lucky! PCC is crowded as well. I was only able to wait-list the class I need. How many semesters have you been taking classes at PCC?

@nifloe: Math 61 is after Math 71X actually. You can check the Mt. Sac’s Math Course Sequences Sheet from here.
[Mathematics Courses](http://math.mtsac.edu/courses_math.html)

@moon9kittie what classes did you get for spring? I got English 1C, Mathpath(7a/7b), speech1, waitlisted for econ1a…not sure if i want it at this point, and CHEM 22! I’m a freshman. 16.3 units completed so far…applied to PCC super last minute back in July. You?

Has anyone taken math 51 with Frank Tran? His neutral to bad reviews on ratemyprofessor.com worries me, even though he has a few good ones. My math 50 teacher had the about the same ratings, but he was pretty awesome in my opinion so I shouldn’t let it worry me too much, but I’ve struggled with math my whole life and want at least a competent professor. Also, is his accent really that bad as stated in one of his reviews?

LURKERS and REGULARS, everyone go on ratemyprofessors and put your ratings on the site so we can get that up and going again!!

Frank Tran is awesome! I had him for 180 and really enjoyed and learned from the class. If you’re not a natural at math though, you may struggle. Great teacher, tough class.

glad to see this thread is thriving still haha
4 more months and it will be a year.

and yes!!! GET RMP UP AND RUNNING AGAIN!

@Dainese - it’s thriving primarily because you’re awesome! We appreciate the hard work.

First off, does anyone know when spring reg dates come out?

And now for my personal hell:
Spring schedule is now changed for me, no more Chinese 2. Since those bastards took out Chem 50H, my schedule is different.
Phys 4AG - Mason
Math 181 - Birca
Bio 4H - Shannon
Chem 50 - Unknown

If we have any classes together let me know ;]

Ah, thank you JetLogic. So as long as I understand his lectures and hw, I’ll do fine on his tests? Does he like to use tricky test questions that are harder than what’s seen in lectures and hw?

I’ve just submitted reviews on ratemyprofessors, thanks for the reminder blackmamba.
