**OFFICIAL Mt SAC CC TRANSFER THREAD**

@nifloe - foreign classes just take dedication. i think its easier in college IMO

@moon9kittie ok thank you so much

@Dainese oh alright sounds good

Can I go to a class on the second day that i’m waitlisted on if I didn’t go on the first day?

Spring registration dates are posted!
I got the 27th…

^ How many units do you have?

I’ve got 16 units so far, as Fall semester was my first term. I was actually expecting a worse date than this so I guess I can’t complain.

@nifloe - your spot may be gone, but you can try and see if it isnt.

@ nifloe: your spot is gone. The professor would have added the people who are further down the waitlist and the people who crashed the class and crossed your name out.

Hope yall got your classes. Winter parking is great btw… :D

very stupid of me coming to school at 6:00 in the morning worrying that there’s no parking space…smh

^ LOL. At least you got front row parking right? hahaha

@churroke - hahahaha…lesson learned LOL

Any recommendations for Chem 50 for Spring? Professors are Chen, Beam, Mauro, Sharrett, Barry, Srulevitch, and Li.

I have a question regarding AP scores.
I sent mine a while back, are they supposed to show up somewhere on my transcripts?
Also, I took AP Gov, AP Spanish and AP Environmental Science, does that mean I am done with any political science or language classes?

): i got the 28th D:
does anyone know how fast spring classes fill up ;; and are the honors professors lenient about adding people in ;; ?? and do art history classes fill up fast?? D:
ugh worried again

spring is only a little bit better than fall. fall being a 10/10…spring is a 9.5/10

art generally doesnt fill up fast.
it depends on the honors prof, some are strict as heck.
which prof did you have in mind?

I have a question about transferring, pre-med, and majoring in biology. I already spoke to two counselors at mt. sac, and I’d like to make double sure that the information I got is correct. (I had bad experience with counselors in high school, and heard horror stories about mt. sac counselors giving wrong information from friends.) I’m even MORE confused after speaking to my boyfriend’s mother and would love some clarification…

Both counselors said I could skip the AA and get a bachelor’s degree. My boyfriend’s mother thinks that I need to get the AA first and then take pre-med later at a university. If I take pre-med courses (essentially pre-req for biology as I understand it) at mt. sac, they would make me get the AA when I’m at a university. How true is this?

You don’t need an AA to transfer and a four-year isn’t going to award you one. Pre-med isn’t a real major, but more a focus. You want a good foundation of science courses basically. Your boyfriend’s mother has no idea what she is talking about.

@jklawling as jetlogic said, pre-med is more of a focus, your intended major is biology so you must take all the pre-requisite courses for biology in order to transfer to wherever it is you would like to go. and you do not need an associates at all, you just need to finish your classes and transfer. once you transfer over to a university you start working on your major…til you finish and graduate with a bachelors degree…not an associates.

@jklawl - above 2 are right. if you arent sure about who to talk to, you can always ask linda diaz in the honors center. shes an expert at transferring, best adviser ever!

I’m hoping to take engineering 1 this spring, any idea how much the textbook will cost?
