None that I see has SAT congrats email!

I didn’t do interview too, but they said they’ll keep my enthusiasm in record lol because I asked for one but NU did not have a person in my area. What does that even mean, “enthusiasm” …lol

I highly doubt these e-mails would be preliminary disclosures of anything. I had a 35 and did not receive one. Then again, I sent mine just last Wednesday. A 35 alone, however, will not get you into Northwestern, so I doubt those of you without e-mails are in trouble.

It must be an indication of SOMETHING. It wouldn’t that random, right?

No emails about SAT or ACT still… this is pretty annoying of them to do I think… Sending emails to some and not others, whatttt. I dont know if it will indicate decision, I doubt that. Also, I only sent in some missing materials on monday and got confirmation that my application had been completed on tuesday. Highly doubt they reviewed my app… so what does this mean? 2320 and perfect 36 and no emails? They told me the got the SAT and hopefully they got the ACT, not confirmed yet. Only explanation for me not getting it is that they didnt review my app? So what could this mean?

There could be a very simple explanation. Different admission officers or their representatives might operate differently. Your regional Ad could be different from the ones who got their emails :-)

@siphwe I don’t think you should be worried about them not reviewing your app yet, and if they’ve confirmed they’ve received your scores, then all you can do really is wait. In my case, my application scores are not confirmed received yet, that’s something to worry about.

I think there’s another person here who got the email? Is it from the same person? That may help explaining @NorthwesternDad 's theory :)

Whoever said that this email is an indication of acceptance…you literally just have me a seizure… In a good way

@alafae The person is mike mills (associate provost of university enrollment)

Oh I think it’s the same person as the previously copied email? Does it mean other ppl who got amazing grades are not reviewed by this person or what?

@queserrva good for you!

Guys let’s just drop this. It’s giving me a heart attack because I’m obviously the one with the lowest score here :(

@alafae our apps are reviewed by two readers.

The way I see it there are two possibilities:

If you haven’t received one, they probably didn’t read your app yet, or receive your scores.

my primary question is why only ACT not SAT?

hey y’all. i wouldn’t be too worried about if you got the email or not. after all, the only email that matters is the rejection/acceptance/deferral email lol. I applied ED as well.
Super nervous since I went to their summer journalism program for 5 weeks last june and absolutely loved nu and evanston. My act is 32 so lower than a lot of applicants, 650 math 2 and 710 literature subject tests. my gpa is around 4.4 and I’m in the top 5% of my class with lots of ECs and APs. Just scared I’ll get turned down for another applicant that has a 35/36 on act. i guess all we can do now is wait.
if any of you have questions about NU/chicago, I can answer them since i spent all summer there. NU is truly a beautiful school.

I received the same ACT e-mail. However, I received the e-mail in early October, before I submitted my ED application. My ACT score is a 31.

should we all post our stats or just wallow in our anxiety together hahaha

Anyone care to chance me on my NU thread? I will chance back! <a href=“Chances for Northwestern ED? - #2 by lellywang - Northwestern University - College Confidential Forums”>Chances for Northwestern ED? - #2 by lellywang - Northwestern University - College Confidential Forums;

Does anyone know if their October ACT scores have been received by NU?

That is even weirder when @veganrunner96 say so lol How would they even ‘review your application already’ if you hadn’t submitted in? So that option’s out, neither is the getting in option. Guys let’s just stop freaking ourselves out!

@stressedjunior15 I’m with you, I have a barely 2100 SAT but everything else is good. Hopefully they don’t have cut off scores for ACT/SAT! Absolutely love NU too.

@alafae i wouldnt worry about them cutting off our scores lol. they’re still very competitive scores. my theory is just the kids with 34-36/2300-2400 post about it on here since they want to show off their amazing scores. if anything, NU would cut off at under 29/1900.

@stressedjunior15 They might be competitive scores but NU is very competitive too, so we have no idea. And coming up on CC definitely doesnt help because of the excessive 2300/34+ here! And according to the previous ED admitted threads, I don’t see many students of my scores, so I’m pretty worried…

@alafae true. ACT score is definitely my weakness. i like to think that i made up for it elsewhere on my app with ECs and the NU connection and whatnot, but i dont know. waiting is definitely killing me. where else did you apply?
