Hey guys! I’m so glad I chose to become a part of this forum… There’s something about being able to speak out and relieve some of my anxiety by talking to you guys. I don’t really know any of you guys but I already feel a little better being in this group… its kinda like discussing with friends after taking a really hard test or something…
I just wanted to say good luck to everyone!! I’m kinda on the same line as @RamenUniversity , kinda bracing myself for rejection… at the same time I don’t want to put myself down too much.
My promise to myself during this application season is to just DO IT and click on emails when results come out, rather than taking even a moment to hesitate. Good luck y’all!
I’ve heard that decisions come out on the last day of the term (I have no concrete source for this, just a friend that goes to NU). This year, that falls on Friday, December 12th.
@nicesocksdude December 12th this year is on a Saturday. Do you mean Friday December 11th? It could be great if it comes out December 11th since I have midterms starting Monday right after and I don’t want 2 high stress things coming at me at once :/.
Hi there. My mom’s best friend is n the board of admissions and said that they are trying their best to release decisions by the end of this week. I’m not sure how sure that is but I just wanted to help. Have a great day and Go Cats!
I’ve met a lot of people here who have done summer progams at Medil so that would lead me to believe that they are partial to applicants who have demonstrated a lot of interest in the school. I would also assume that they would be a little more lenient in accepting ED applicants, and it probably doesn’t hurt that you live farther away since they are trying to build a diverse community. Being a male might also help, Medil tends to get more female applicants so it’s probably less competitive for male applicants. You seem to have a lot going for you but I don’t want to get your hopes up either, I mean after all there’s an overwhelming chance most people won’t get in because NU has a tight acceptance rate. Best of luck though!
@mcgm487 me! Do you think it’ll help towards admission at all? I sort of got the impression that we were just kind of guinea pigs for a potential future online prescreening system, but I hope they’re actually watching them.
Does anyone know how we will find out about our decisions? Will it send us an email telling us to open up this link n go through log in to see our decisions? Or will it tell us if we’re accepted or not straight in the email?
@espresso000 Pretty sure in the email it gives you link to check your admission status. So no, I don’t think it explicitly states it in the email (I could be wrong, though).
Current freahman here, you will receive an email that will redirect you to a site in which you log in with a password you get in the to see your decision.
Don’t get your hopes up about getting results earlier, last year they made us wait till the last day, December 15 before they even released the results, and when we would call to ask what’s going on they would be like “results will be out by dec 15”. So take my word, dont stress about getting it earlier bcause it moght be a hige dissapointment to not actually get the results beforehand. Last year, some people said it will be out Dec 12, and I couldnt sleep for three days until I finally got the response!
And good luck everyone!
@smb63097 I would assume that they would write a professional letter out in their email. Does anyone know if NU has ever released decisions before the 15th?
I don’t know if this helps but I called a while back to see if I could submit an art portfolio and I was told that you could submit things up until December 1, when the final review takes place.
HEY EVERYONE: how many letter of recs did everyone submit? I submitted four (2 teachers, counselor, and a mentor). Is that too many? How many did every one else do
