Hey guys my friend got rejected but in their letter it says the decision was particularly difficult “In light of your family’s ties to the University”
But their family has no known connection to NU whatsoever… Does anyone have an explanation for this? Any suggested action?

@cdfreta My son got the same letter but he is a double legacy. He’s actually a triple legacy at Uchicago and got waitlisted, so for anyone who thinks that stuff matters…it doesn’t:(

@jjmama Not to downplay your son’s pain but just because it doesn’t guarantee acceptance, doesn’t mean being a legacy doesn’t matter. It greatly improves admission chances.

I registered on the portal before and still got the email. Rejected and I am not surprised.
rejected i missed my northwestern interview though i thought it was a different date so that might have contributed. prob going to umich next year. go blue!

Waitlisted. Which actually a good result for me. 
This process is so cruel and brutal on kids…Well I am not stressed anymore. My kid is crushed. She is sooooo qualified, straight A student, Latina, smart, funny, creative. NU it is you loss! She has been accepted to every other college she has applied to, so she will do great somewhere else. Hasta la vista!
How do I find my decision? I never got an email with any info on setting up a portal??? Very worried
