Aahahahahaha, crimsonstained, that’s actually hilarious. I’m glad I could provide some unintentional humor!!

@chrohn, I totally agree with you! I check back on here obsessively so I can vent my NU frustrations. We are pretty quiet on this thread…If you want to post speculative things, go right ahead!!

I also agree on the fact that we could get them anytime this week which is why I constantly check my email…haha. I don’t know, I just really want to know as soon as possible…

Rapfan, I don’t have English this year, but I really enjoyed it last year. I had a cool teacher, very little work, still felt like I learned, and got a 4 on the exam (Lit). Gov and Econ isn’t easy for us just because it’s sooooooo much memorization. Otherwise it’d be so extremely easy it wouldn’t even be funny.

Aquamay, it was extremely funny. Thank you for the random picture in my head, haha.

Crimsonstained - do you only have to take 3 years of english? I took AP Lang last year and it was fun just because my teacher was awesome. But this year sucks because my teacher is somewhat incapable of teaching and we do absolutely nothing productive in class. I love econ and gov, even though a lot of it is rote memorization (which is why I want to major in econ & polisci).
When do you guys have finals?

I took English I in 8th grade. Spanish I in 7th, Spanish II in 8th, so I only have one year of a language “in high school.” Plus Algebra I in 7th, Geometry in 8th.

I have midterms and one final (We’re on a year schedule except for econ and gov which are half) mid January.

Okay, makes sense (lucky).
I have finals in two weeks, this week is “dead week”, but it’s starting of with 6 tests on Monday and Tuesday. Oh what fun!

Haha I started writing about my least/most favorite classes but then I got scared that someone from my school would recognize me. You see, my username kind of give me away if you know me ^^
I’ll just say my English teacher is a proud (yet secretly insecure) butt and that I’m enjoying my World History class!

As a general rule, I don’t appreciate my English teachers. Especially since I moved to a public school in Cali. You hand in an essay, they make a squiggly line on some part of it and write ‘awk’ next to it with a point deduction to their liking… I wish they could be more… objective?

Ah, I love my English class! Not so much the people in it since it’s technically a stacked class…but my English teacher is super awesome!

On a side note, I took Econ last year and it was awful! My teacher was super smart but she couldn’t teach the slightest bit. But she was really nice and gave everyone A’s which I think we all appreciated!

Rapfan, Your finals happen two weeks from now? Is that week a full week for you, because we finish on that wednesday…

Chrohn, I guess to recognize your school from your name, you’d have to go there. I don’t get it I’m not worried about someone recognizing me from my school. If anyone actually cared enough about college to be on here at my school, they’re probably one of my friends haha. I’ve had all very different English teachers, so I guess English was never a static subject. Until this year, the only similarly taught subject across everything was math, but this year is a bit different.

No there is no consensus, since they don’t have an official time they come out with decisions other than it being by the 15th.

Yes there is a chance it comes out today, we really have no idea.

That being said, as someone pointed out, it usually comes out on the last day of classes, which would be this Friday, so my guess is it comes out this Friday, but we really never know.

I wish they’d come out with decisions already…or at least tell us when they’ll be released. This period of being totally unaware is really rough.

My finals are next year! Late Jan? So if per chance, I don’t make it in to NU, I guess I have around a month and a half to bring my grades up for regulars.

And er… I do go to a public school. But c’mon it’s in So Cal and overrun by not just Asians, but rich Asians! Meh. There’s probably more people at my school who care about their post-secondary than those who don’t. And the thing is, this English teacher is kind of famous… or infamous (would be a better way to put it) at my school. I typed up the ‘stories’ and ‘sayings’ that he likes to tell ALLL of his classes. And if you went to my school, we could probably make fast friends by discussing his tall tales. Ya so I decided not to post it.
Maybe I’ll leave him a scathing review on ratemyteachers…
Also, has anyone found that the ‘environment’ is a bit ‘different’ in non-advanced/AP classes from advanced/AP classes? I feel very… socially out of place in these classes. Oh yeah! and the demographics really change depending on the class you’re taking. There are two? three? white people in my college-level calc class… Then again… ~50% of the student body at my school is Asian. I think…

Also do any of you know how many students at your school are applying to NU? At my school there are ~450 seniors 20 applying to NU this year and 3(min)-5(max) applying ED. Only 4 out of like… 40? people made it last year. 1 person actually went though…

I don’t think it’ll come out on a Sunday… Really I’ve never seen it happen. Today is the only day I’m sure results won’t be coming out on. Everyone needs a day off. As for me, Sunday is my “make-up-for-all-the-work-I-procrastinated-on” day.

At my school I’m 1/350 some people applying, haha. Yes, the CP vs Honors/AP crowd is very different. Our CP classes are a lot of ghetto (literally, one of the worst parts of town) kids, and our Honors/AP are the annoying rich preps that do drugs. Oh sorry, I way over generalized that. But that is pretty true.

Ah, I get out the same day, but not finals.

My favorite class in high school was definitely AP US History. My teacher was one of those super strict ones, but she had amazing lectures and the exam was a piece of cake because she prepared us so well. But even though that class cost me a ton of sleep, it was one of the few that really taught me something. I actually had her write one of my recs for NU That being said, this year my favorite class is probably AP Lit because my teacher is very enthusiastic and we actually have decent discussions in class.

Hm, as for least favorite… I would say AP Chemistry. My teacher had no idea how to really teach and it was basically one of those self-study classes the whole year. I didn’t have any chemistry before that class either, so it was basically just a whole lot of suffering…

Our school runs on 7 periods so finals for us are next year. We have a few midterm-y tests coming up though!

Hey guys so I saw from past threads that some people called the administration to see when the results will come out! Is anyone willing to call?
