Official NYU 2012 Transfer Thread

@ahuja21
Actually, all my transfer credentials were processed a while ago. I applied early March. I got an e-mail a while back from an admissions officer asking me to send in another college report because they had never received the one originally sent. This was about two weeks ago, and I haven’t heard anything since. Can you pleas tell us your stats?

I am a sophomore at UT-austin, RTF major, with GPA 3.75. HOpe to get into Tisch. Anyone else applied Tisch? I am so nervous :((( When can we get the admission letter?

@ahuja21

I was in the same situation, but it seems to be a good thing as I was accepted last Thursday! I was accepted to CAS last year, but decided on elsewhere. Now I am transferring as a Politics major.

@viva11
Can you please tell us your stats? And when did you apply? CONGRATS! :D

@victoriahty
I didn’t apply to Tisch but I’ve actually read an article about its transfer rates and the lady that was interviewed was saying good things about its transfer rates. I think you’ll have better chances as a transfer and you have a solid GPA. I wouldn’t worry too much.

@Loolala

Attending a similarly ranked private university as NYU
College GPA: 3.9/4.0
High School GPA: 3.7 UW/4.0 W
SATs: 1350/1600 2020/2400
Lots of AP credits
Pretty good ECs, although definitely did not have as much in college- something that I was initially worried about
An OK recommendation, not great, but my high school guidance counselor loved me and she sent one when she sent in my HS transcript
Also, my brother attended NYU

hope this helps! good luck to the rest
oh and I sent in my application sometime in the beginning of March

@npat89
hi thank you! what did you apply? and did that lady talk about nyu or just Tisch? I am being crazy and just read the 2011 nyu transfer thread…i found the decision release process was super long til the mid-June

@victoriahty
I applied to CAS Economics. The lady was mainly talking about Tisch I think; I’ll try and find the article if I can. Ya the decision release is pretty long but I don’t think it will take until June, we’ll probably here in May as the website says. Im so frustrated with the Albert because it hasn’t checked off my high school and college transcripts!

@npat89
oh i have the same problem, not the transcript but my portfolio of Film & TV. i just sent an email to the “ops.admission” address. honestly i did’t know whom i should ask… maybe you need to ask them also. the admission counselor?

@victoriahty
I think they said they’ll email us next week if we still have stuff missing. Our materials might actually be there, but it just takes a long time to register everything through the Albert System. Although I sent my materials by like february 20th or something so that is why I’m concerned.

@npat89
wow you applied so early, which is good! But perhaps your materials met that of freshmen’s. Dont worry. We can just wait until next week. If u dont get the update, u should call them then

@victoriahty
well I sent all the other stuff in early but I didn’t do the common app and supplement untill the day it was due lol.

@npat89
Lol i see…well, good luck to both of us!

So people are already being accepted to CAS? Ah oh no. I thought only Gallatin people were hearing back.

@Loolala where did you apply? CAS as well?

What if the people who get notified in May are those rejected…

@WorriedAlways
Yup, last Thursday people were accepted to CAS. I also applied to CAS. Accepted or rejected I hope they let us know soon!

@Loolala and have they asked for your Mid-Term report yet?

This thread is making me more anxious…not helping, not helping.

@WorriedAlways
Nope, they haven’t. I applied early March and I got an e-mail from an admissions officer about two weeks ago asking me to send in the college report, but that was only because they didn’t receive the one originally sent. I haven’t heard anything ever since. My materials were checked off on Albert rather quickly though–about a week after I applied. And yeah, I know. The thread is making me more anxious as well.

yeah right? maybe we should stop checking back every hour…and posting about stats etc…its out of our hands for now.

Hi guys, I just checked my ALbert status and the check list only includes: application fee; portfolio for film&tv; Final HS transcript; College transcript;standardized test scores. And THATS ALL. IS that everyone the same? I thought it should includes reference letter or things like college report (from advisor). Is that mean they havn’t received the rest??

@victoriahty

Those are the only things listed though right? The rec letters and the college report and and stuff like that is included in the actual common app, so if that’s received, then all of that is I would think.

You know if something’s not received when it’s not checked off…and they’ll you I presume.
