It sounds weird! why did they ask for your midterm? Are you a freshman or Sophomore? I thought the only materials they need were already posted! OMG i’m nervous either cuz I did extremely bad on mid-tern!

@Angelaa

But I dont think u need to be nervous, cuz u still did good for the other classes!

I’m a sophomore. Do you think I should tell them that I withdrew from the sci., or just not say anything and let it quietly pass? I’m transferring with intentions of studying language and not science anymore. I was wondering if anyone on this thread got accepted after sending in their midterm reports, and whether they were all A’s.

i think this is the most stressful thread i have ever seen lol…

@esthetique
HAHA. Agree. I think it’s become even more stressful after we found out people heard back last week.

Hey guys! ok so i need some serious input i’ve been stressing A LOT about this and any advice would really help.
So recently ive sent in my application to nyu and i had my audition last weekend, they said id find out mid may at the latest. My audition went really well, interview and all. my monologues were right on target and my interview went very smoothly, i gave a lot of well though out, creative answers and i even managed to crack some jocks with my auditioner.

i know at tisch your acceptance is based on a 50/50 basis, and im praying my audition gets me in. i have a lot on my resume from hs, like plays, track, choir and a bunch of leadership positions ive held, and i’m also taking classes at an nyu studio this summer i got into that i mentioned on the resume as well.

my academics are what im nervous about though, i didn’t do too fab in hs, i got a 3.0 at best and a 1680 on my SATS. i scored 11/12 on the essay i think but who honestly cares about that right?! lol. im a freshman at montclair state university right now taking all gen eds basically with a gpa of whats hopefully going to be around a 3.6 when the semester ends.

i already got accepted into the rutgers science school (because for those of you who have applied there would know rutgers makes you apply to 3 back up choices) and ive heard that school is really tough to get in to. i also got into marymount manhattan college with scholarship money. but idk what to think, someone help!!! :[

@Angelaa

Um… i don’t think keeping quiet is a good idea, and i believe they don’t think either. I suggest you send them your midterm report, and states the reason you withdraw the science class. Because it is not the major you want anymore, i dont think it will affect anything. Btw…i just changed my geological science to P/F ;(

@deepk1

I applied Tisch film tv production! However I have no idea about your major, which need audition…anyway, I think audition and any creative work is more important than GPA. Good luck!

It seems that they are emailing people at random asking for mid term reports. To me that seems like they want that from people they are interested in, but some guy on here said that they asked for his last year when he attempted to transfer and they rejected him…sooooo…WHY HAVEN’T THEY ASKED FOR MINE. I’m sorry. I’m freaking out. idglDKS

@WorriedAlways

I dont want to make anyone nervous…but i read the 2011 nyu transfer thread and it seems like they asked for people who have relative lower gpa. But i didnt do the deeper investigation, so i can not tell…I am being crazy>< Maybe it is different from schools?

@WorriedAlways

what’s your gpa and your classification?

um 4.0. I’m a freshman at the University of Texas in Arlington. Applied to study politics in CAS. I’m technically a sophomore by credit hours because I came in with 30 hours from doing International Baccalaureate/AP. I was in a lot of academic EC’s in high school and I’m a member of the honors college now and I volunteer and am in Black Student Association and stuff. I sent in no SAT scores :/

I’m a 1st generation African American student…

yeahhhhhhhhh.

I am currently a freshmen at Boston University and I want to transfer to NYU CAS.

wowww same stats here! I have 30 credits because of IB. And I’m in UT-austin now (hug!) But I have a lower gpa of 3.75, and the last semester I got the lowest gpa…hopefully that’s not a big drawback

ehhh we should be friends!!! were’d you go to high school?

Yeah I was in French Honor Society, Spanish Honor Society, National Honor Society, Academic Quiz League, Future Business Leaders of America, and Junior World’s Affairs Council. I held offices in all of them.

I made the Dean’s List last semester…

@gchaehuh Your situation is similar to mine. I was a “B” student in high school, but I have pretty decent extracurricular activities.

Your extracurricular activities are good. You should retake your SAT’s. I believe an 1850 is the 25th percentile for NYU. Your midterm GPA is good, however, a 3.18 is a bit low.

Overall, your chances are decent.

yeah ! i attended high school out of Texas. You have so many extra-activities, and you have a solid gpa. I think you have a higher chance to get in! I was recognized as “college scholars” by UT-AUstin few days ago, and am gonna attend the honors day ceremony. Do you think I should tell NYU this news?

me too. I went to a school in Euless. Yeah I think it would help maybe but how would you tell them? Like…maybe if they ask for your mid term report I guess?

Hey I live in Texas too! I’m currently doing CAP at UTPA, so if I don’t get into NYU, I’ll be at UT Austin next semester :)

@hsclassof2011 yeah Ill go to UT next year if NYU doesnt work out too!
