Official NYU 2012 Transfer Thread

My college transcript is the only thing missing on my checklist as well. Interesting that I got a midterm grade request, which seems to either imply that they actually have my college transcript, or that they started reviewing my application without it…

@all,

Let me know as well when and if they update it for you. I have contacted admissions as well.

Lets see.

@matark

They probably have not updated it online but are reviewing your application because it is complete.

hey guys, is anyone else applying from a school currently on quarters? Did you send your winter quarter grades?
Also, does anyone think I stand a decent chance?
college gpa: 3.6
45 quarter credit hours not counting ap credits
act: 28 hs gpa: 3.5
applying to arts and sciences econ.

also applying from top 50-60 state school

@RiedyZac000

If you search through the thread, there are other people will quarters, or at least. I remember because she/he couldn’t send her mid term grades because of the system.

I’m the one who was worrying about being on quarters. I sent my winter grades. They sent an email for midterm grades so I can’t send those until way later since our quarter just started. But your winter grades should be out by now so send them.

one clarification for Tisch applicant: here’s the link of notification date [Important Transfer Dates](<a href=“How to Apply”>How to Apply)
It says for “Summer and Fall transfer, notification will be released throughout the month of May”. (Not mid-April)

@victoriahty that’s for all applicants. Notification is suppose to happen beginning of may throughout mid-may, but apparently the earlier you applied and had all your materials in, the faster you are finding out. I called admissions to confirms this which clarifies why some people found out in the beginning of april. I’m assuming May 1st majority of the decisions will be released.

chance for my friend. Stern transfer from UVa, GPA 3.9+, SAT super score 2110, SAT 2 2210, 3 rec letters, one of them is from very famous professor, another one very strong, decent essays and ECs. Submitted application right before deadline, received NetID 4/5, but hear nothing after that, not even asking for mid-year report. Got concerned. Any suggestions? Is now a good time to contact AOs?

hey pepes, i have a question. Is the media culture and communication major at NYU steinhardt difficult to transfer into?

Hey guys, so i’m guessing Stern didn’t come out yet. Think it comes out throughout May. Mind chancing me?

Applied: Stern
From: CCC
GPA: ~3.85
EC: Research analyst at a private CPA firm.
Internship at mortgage firm.
General Coordinator for a volunteer organization that helps autistic children.
Dance team leader/ part-time instructor.
PTK
Trade on my own brokerage account as well as manage my fathers.
Won 1st place in dance competitions.
Letter of Rec: One from the business department dean at my current school. One very strong recommendation from my boss whom i worked as a research analyst.

Will finish all prerequisites prior to transferring.

@Mattymark I’m also transferring into Steinhardt for MCC. I heard that it’s not extremely difficult, but you have to be a good fit (it’s nyu lol), have really good essays and recs. You also have to do your research on the program so you can express it well in your essay.

Called and they finally said application was complete. Had to send it high school transcripts a second time. They didn’t get it the first time.

@giantmidget does it say your application is complete online?

they still haven’t downloaded my supplements…

Im thinking about applying to the College of Arts and Sciences next semester, can anyone tell me if that is a little “easier” than getting into stern? Im really becoming worried by reading this thread and I haven’t even applied yet lol

whoa whoa whoa…are supplements supposed to come up as downloaded? Seriously? Like are they?

No, the application doesn’t show up as complete online.

I don’t think the supplements show up as downloaded, as I’ve applied to four schools and none of them show my supplement as downloaded.

Yeah they’re not…I just asked…
