Official NYU 2012 Transfer Thread

that awkward moment you realize that NYU didn’t ask you for your mid term because you sent it in already way back when…

@booksrule ugh I heard it was kind of bleh but I didn’t know it was I’m not going to NYU bleh!

Do you guys think some more acceptances will be released tomorrow and that in May they will do like last year and release decisions on tues and thurs?

Come on! NYU is so slow! I think most of us have got some offers from other schools already… Oh my goodness…I am getting a little bit impatient right now what about u guys? Anyone got the transfer credits shown up? I check it everyday nothing shows up yet!

@WorriedAlways Well, it’s “one” of the reasons. There are some other personal ones, so idk, maybe what other people get in financial aid won’t seem like much of a disincentive at all.

@booksrule9

How much did they give you? They offered me a $8.5k scholarship + $3k work study per year (not semester). It’s going to be pretty damn expensive if I end up going. Waiting to hear back from a few other schools before I make my decision.

@GregFields

I got that same $8.5k scholarship, $3k work study, and a $4.4k Pell Grant per year. And then a bunch of loans too. With the loans, it would cover all the costs, but I’d rather stay at my current school that has offered good financial aid thus far. I didn’t apply to NYU expecting to get this less. The annoying thing is my deadline is tomorrow, 4/26. Obviously they’re trying to put the pressure on by setting the deadline before most of my other schools send out their admission notifications.

@Tomeu11

Yeah people seem to think it’s the Tuesday/Thursday thing. We shall see tomorrow. On last year’s thread that’s what I seemed to see, with the emails getting received at like 9:00am.

Yeah a lot of people say they’ll be graduating with like $100,000 of debt. Sigh.

Ugh I’m just scared. I want to hear backkkk

Any decisions today ? its a thursday so there should be a few.

It’s currently 2 am on the east coast, so you should probably wait a bit! Haha

@giantmidget.

was just putting it out there. nervousness.

I just called NYU and they said my application was complete, but its still not shown as complete on the Albert. Weird…

For those of you who want to get in:
If the transfer credits haven’t shown up, then probably you are not going to get the decision today( I mean NOT the rejection letter). Usually the offer comes 1 day or several days after the credits show up~~~
@Giantmidget
From last year’s thread I figure that most stern transfer heard back between may 9th(monday) to may 13th ( although quite a few stern transfer probably heard back later than that) so I assume that probably we have to wait for a long time…Uh~~~ Kill me please…

For those who are living in the dorms at their current school, will the decisions be mailed their or you home address?

meant to say there or home address

My home address.

nvm, posted in wrong thread lol. But, does nyu send a physical copy of the decisions after the email?

@npat89 Albert is not a reliable system. If the an admissions counselor told you you’re application is complete, I’d say don’t worry about it. If it’s really bothering you that it’s not checked off, you can call again and request for a counselor to check your materials off.

@meilleur I e-mailed an admissions counselor designated for my state last night to double check if admissions decisions were going to be released as late as last year (I’m applying for MCC, and those I believe were released the latest) she said that they were going to get them out by early May unlike last year. Hopefully you won’t have to wait that long, unless May. 9th is considered early for NYU lol.

@RiedyZac000 Yes, you receive a physical copy only if you were ACCEPTED. If you are to be rejected, you only receive an e-mail.

@RiedyZac000

It depends what address you put on your application.

I’m a bit confused by the transfer applicants that have already heard in April. I called today and the woman said everyone should hear beginning May 1st. ?

Yeah they say that but people have heard…people don’t know why
