I’m an international and rejected as well. Oberlin sucks! (I wish I believed that…)

I’m international, applied for financial aid and rejected as well…

At which hour did you get your decisions guys ?

I’m international…got waitlisted…

Am asking for a substantial amount of aid…could this have anything to do with that?

^^ Definitely. Schools that are need aware take into consideration that you need a lot of aid. So even if they really like you but you can’t pay anything, it will always be tough to gain admission.

Just woke up, still no email for me. I guess I’m waiting til Monday.

Me either. You think they can’t e-mail us today ? Normally the admission office is open on saturdays 9 am to 1 pm.
(lol, my posts really sound over-stressed)

International and accepted. :)

Good luck to those who haven’t received news from them yet.

eyevand, may I know which country are you from? do you apply for financial aid? thanks!

International, accepted with 10k/year scholarship. IDK if this includes financial aid or not but they made it clear it was MERIT.
and besides, we sent in our FA forms on monday… i doubt they’d have processed it by then.
WOOO!!! My parents aren’t too crazy about the school, but I hope that’s enough to convince them to let me go!

Has anyone received their emails like… recently? i.e today? within the past hour or two?

Havent you received yours yet?

Nope. GuiltyBystander and I are still waiting!

I’m from Hong Kong and didn’t apply for aid but got merit based.

rejected
but mount holyoke said yes :)

All I can do is wait for domestic decisions and pray for a miracle… I love Oberlin!

waitlisted :(

btw, does anyone know if and how my waitlist status will change if i intend to postpone/defer admission for a year?

For all of us still waiting for a decision, I have composed a special poem in the International Forum:

** Oberlin, oh Oberlin, how thee remind me of a summer’s day…
But please, I beg you, affirm my yay or nay. **

Oh, Berlin, Germany in Ohio,
Mistaken for Rivendell “or some other weirdest fantasy-ish place” by ignorant father My-o!

Oberlin, I know, the recession, now we are both poor,
But please, don’t make this day after failing maths (in GB terms, that is), even more sour.

I shall promise I will not procrastinate,
and for class; I will never be late.

I shall join quiz bowl and other clubs and try to win,
So please, **let me in **, otherwise, I won’t know what to begin!

Fin.

Thank you.

lol you should send it :p.
I phoned for the third time (yeah I know I suck) today and apparently they will be sending other e-mails by the end of the week for those who didn’t send everything on time.

International and waitlisted. Applied for aid. :(
