**OFFICIAL** October 27th ACT Discussion

I liked this test far better than the Sept ACT. I also thought the math was harder than normal. I had to blindly guess on the last 3. English was very easy. Science was moderate (easy compared to Sept) and so was Reading.
I want at least a 32. If not that, I’d at least like my Science section above a 30 for superscoring (I’m ashamed to admit it, but I got a 25 on science for my sept test).

What do yall think the math scaling is? -1/-2=36, -3/-4=35?

^ haha, um no. Probably -0=36, -1, -2 = 35, …

i couldnt focus on the reading ugh ):
the test center i chose was so bad dfhjghsdfjkg
there was this loud bell sound every 10-20 minutes and the proctor couldnt do anything
-sobs-

sorry where are the specific threads- can’t find them? thankks

Did anyone get consistently like D’s or A’s or C’s or B’s… oh the last column of english? and like for science and reading?? I’m so scared :frowning: it was my 4th time… i got nervous and i didn’t have enough time unlike when i took my practice tests… any suggestions??? :(( I’m taking it again in december… 5th time…

Does taking the ACT too many times affect college admission? like Stanford…? I have a 4.1 gpa… extra curriculars are stacked… leadership… personal statements should be pretty good… chances of UCLA stanford and berkeley? lol with ****ty ACT/SAT(1530) scores

4.1 GPA has to be your weighted GPA (since max unweighted is 4), and 4.1 weighted is definitely not impressive…

4.1 is good, but not enough for Stanford. I remember getting like 3 D’s last column English.

For reading I got lots of c and d

Sent from my Desire HD using CC

Unless you take IB, where you don’t get to weigh your classes until junior and senior year. I know full IB students with a 4.0 unweighted who only have a 4.2 or 4.3. My sister being one of them, but she got a full ride (merit) to a top liberal arts school. Your GPA could be amazing but you could still be dumb in real life…

I got a 32 on my first ACT in April. I could have gotten at least a 33 if not a 34 but I got a 28 in math, and an 8 on my essay. LAME

The math was really hard for me, I didn’t finish the last 5 and had to guess. Science was also tough, I get the last two questions. The notation was really confusing and I have not taken physics… I got a 35 on my previous, this one is definitely going to be less than that.

Writing and Reading are always easy, imo. I did better on my essay though.

I’m going to have to retake it again, ugh! I’m registering for the November one right now.

My strength is math, I got a 35 in September. But on this one I am expecting -4ish so like a 32

yo guys i cant find any threads specifically for math/english but someone up there ^^ said there were some. does anybody mind sharing a link for math or english or reading?

I took my first act in september and got good scores in everything but reading. I felt really good about this reading, but a bit worried about everything else. math is my strong point but honestly i think i went down. i need a 33! are there individual threads for each section?

How was the test guys? I took it back in September and got a 33 composite, but I didn’t sign up this time.

Dam, Math and Science seemed a lot harder than usual…

I normally get 34/35 on math. This time I didn’t even finish, lol.

I’d have to agree with @starktony826. The math and science sections were absurdly hard this time around! The English and essay seemed easy though…I got a 31 last time but that won’t cut it and im afraid I may have done worse D=. Lost 4 minutes in science section cuz I had to use the restroom…

I wasn’t planning on taking the ACT until a week before the test and I registered as a standby. This was my first time taking it, and I barely studied
I thought the English and Reading were really easy, the Math was okay, but not great and by the time I got to Science, I was tired and pretty much gave up…

Science was killer in September. How did this one compare?

Science wasn’t “killer” this time, but it was definitely the hardest out of the four sections. A little better compared to last test.
