Official October SAT Math Discussion

I got 0 for that

Im so mad at myself! I wrote 80=.5x for the last grid in and got 160 :frowning: i hate thissss

Anyone know what the SA was for the cube i put 51 but i think it was 54

Are you guys sure its 0? I worked it out. The median is 10.5 and the mean is 11.

54 is correct for the cube SA question

yeahh I worked it out also, I added up 1-21 but then I realized that it was 22 terms and by that time I already circled 0.5 but I quickly erased it and just left it. Crapp but 0 makes so much sense, god dammit i messed up so much on thisss test. Just stupid mistakesss due to time, I havent done a math practice section in awhile (B/c of CR) so my time management was horrible :(. Crap oh well, maybe I can super score with my november one DAmmmm

Were these questions experimental:

A question about a triangle, it was one of the very last problems #18,19,or 20. It asked you to find the AREA, and I think it said that it was an equilateral triangle… not the perimeter question( I had the perimeter question in another section).

A question about a cone or cyliner within a larger cone or cylinder. The question asked what fraction the volume of the smaller cylinder or cone was that of the larger one… one had a side length 5, one had side length 10… both had different heights… both had same hypotenuse

60 percent of class were girls, class was 40 percent of school, how many students in school?

If list has contains n numbers, the numbers are either 3 or 5, and the mean is 4… What could be a possible value for n? ( roman numberals I, II, III)

something like x^(2/3)y^1/2 and you had to get it to equal x^3(y) … so you had to square both sides to get the answer

I worked it out and got 11 for both because the median was 11 and i added them all up and divided by 21 and got 11 for the mean.

22 terms?..there’s 21…counting 1 to 21 is 21 numbers…right?

In addition, was the question x + y + z < 270 experimental?

no that wasn’t cause i had it

Did anyone get 0 for the question about yellow, wrinkled seeds??

I see what I did…but, Archu, how is 1-21 22 terms?

X +Y+Z <270 is correct

Did anyone get the question about reflection of a point? it was no.20 or was that experimental?

Niquii77, I also got 0 for the median v. mean question. I worked it out twice. The first time I got .5, but I later realized that its 0

it waaaas 0
i checked it twice and again

if you simplify it, its a basic principle of averages of all odd collections of consecutive numbers

0,1,2
median is 1, mean is one

2,3,4,5,6
median is 4, mean is 20/5=4

It’s a mathematical principle that the difference will be 0.

It was (-1,3)

****kk you’re right!! hahaha. I told you it wasn’t a good day for me. haha well at least I wont get docked for it I hate myself right noww

@Philo that makes me feel a lot better that I erased my answer

Did anyone know the answer that went like f(a) =f(b) or something like that it was 2 lines on a graph and that made an X symbol
