Official October SAT Math Discussion

haha i dont recall the parabola question with the slope of 5 so assuming i get that wrong, the trail marker one wrong, and one grid in wrong can anyone approximate my score?

^ If you missed 0 and omitted 0? 800

2 missed 1 grid in wrong, 3 total

I think we’re thinking of different questions Phoenix. I know it had options 16 and 12 and some others with radicals.

HOW did u guys solve number 17 on grid ins the one with the cube??

@Snoop1, the one with the cube surface area? thats 54.

also can someone explain the parabola one to me? I ran out of time working on it but it didnt say “figure not drawn to scale” so theres no way the y-int could be 25 if the distance from the x-intercepts was 10 right? help!

i put 2 as the slope

-thanks

What was the answer to F(x)=g(x) i think it was like number 17 the one with the graph??

@phoenix how did u solve that one?

^ if u take away the shaded cube the surface area remains the same

Answer to f(a) = g(a) was a = 4.

@Snoop1, the one where you had a graph of two crossing lines? and it said find a when f(a) = g(a)? that was 4.

What was the 10(x-3) #of coordinates with positive integer coordinates for both x and y (x,y)

Phoenix how did you get 65 for the tangent circles triangle question

@hedgewig, it was y = 10 - 3x I put 1, not really sure though.

@Niquii

I dont get how the y intercept can be 25… is there like a formula? How did u get it from knowing two x intercepts?

And also can u tell me what the questions was for the high school absence problem? I don’t remember the question and I think I got it wrong…

Radii make isoceles tri

@thnkprnctn, the intercepts were 5 and -5 right, and it was negative? then, f(x) = -(x-5)(x+5) that expands into, f(x) = -x^2 + 25, so intercept is (0,25)

For the y = 10 - 3x it was asking for the sets of positive coordinates.

The answer was 3:

(1, 7)
(2, 4)
(3, 1)

@yankeesfanatic, ugh still a 770 or so.
