Thank you to everyone who has commented on my behalf. I appreciate the positive, supportive advice that the CC community has given me throughout the long, strenuous college application journey, and I hope that the community can stay this way. Best of luck to all with Princeton and any other upcoming college decisions!
We are on the final stretch and sometimes emotions get the better of us,
I suggest we all move on and focus on what unite us… our desire and commitment to better ourselves and community in the upcoming FANTASTIC phase of our lives.
Benji3025 was only being wise in still applying RD to other peer schools for financial reasons in spite of EA admission. When my son was accepted to several top peer schools, guess what? The financial package offers from each school varied so significantly that they absolutely made a difference in which school to commit to. There’s unfortunately a misguided notion out there and here on CC that if an applicant applies to other schools after an EA admit, that applicant is stealing a spot or doing injustice to other applicants. Everyone who applies EA and gets accepted still should apply RD to other schools for financial comparisons that’d help making one’s decision. It’d be foolish otherwise unless the applicant is just perfectly happy with both the school and its FA offer.
EA is not ED. Applicants like Benji3025 definitely should take advantage of this invaluable option to do a more informed, thorough and detailed comparison of the schools in every aspect (including the financial aspect). No applicant would have all the information s/he needs to make the best decision at the time of her/his applications.

Haha, thank you to all for your support of my decision! On another note, why did everyone choose to apply to Princeton? What about the school stands out to you from its peers? I’m just curious about what everyone hopes to take advantage of at Princeton if accepted.
Lewis Center of the Arts & Woody Woo @Benji3025
Eating clubs!!! @Benji3025
@writergirl0316 I haven’t really checked out the Lewis Center or the Arts that much–the dance/theatre/music/creative writing events there seem awesome, though. Is there anything in particular that you’re interested in?
Mostly just the creative writing opportunities in general. Plus, there was a picture earlier this year of both Eric Foner and Toni Morrison together at Princeton & like I died a little. @Benji3025
@BigApple2018 Same! I definitely love the idea of a space to eat, socialize, and study with classmates without the commitment of pledging a fraternity (did I mention that I’m a huge foodie, lol).
It just has a good vibe. Not really something specific I can put into words.

I just logged into CC for the first time today. Here’s my two cents:
@midwestsahm The fact that you are bullying someone about the decisions they made with applying to college is utterly disgusting and disgraceful. Most of the people who have responded on this thread are students who have dreams. Dreams of getting into top-tier schools like Princeton and Yale. Is there something wrong with having dreams? Is there something wrong with having a specific preference? If you’re gonna attack someone over applying to high ranking schools and show a preference toward one of them, then attack me because I applied to many top-tiered schools and I have a strong preference for Georgetown. Don’t attack anyone else, especially @Benji3025. (By the way, @midwestsahm, what you’ve been doing towards @Benji3025 is called cyberbullying. Not cool.)
MODERATOR’S NOTE:
OK, let’s move off @midwestsahm ; the point has been made.
I could get use to food alerts on my phone and cookie time. Walking through those gates is like entering a whole new world.
@BigApple2018 YOu mean cooking time?
Well for one, Princeton’s campus is absolutely beautiful! The main reason though is that I really like it’s certificate system. I’m not completely sure what path I want to pursue in the future so those different certifications will be a good way to explore different fields for me. Plus, I definitely enjoyed my Princeton interview the most compared to my interviews for Harvard and Yale, my interviewer helped make me super excited for the prospect of attending such a great school.
Oh, and even though I was deferred from Yale SCEA, I totally get what you’re doing in applying to multiple schools to weigh your options. Reading how polite and respectful you have been in dealing with a cyberbully restores my faith in the college admissions process. These colleges know what they’re doing when they pick their future students
