@Benji3025 Your avatar is Yale. You used your EA on Yale. Why on Earth would you ask a Princeton alum or accept the alum’s offer to call when you clearly pref Yale?
Pull your pending apps and enjoy your senior year.

About a month ago, my counselor received an email from Princeton concerning my AP scores. Since I had one 2 on AP psychology (did not learn anything in that class) and AP scores are not required on the application, I decided not to turn mine in. But I still got an email saying:
Dear ------,
Greetings from Princeton University. As part of the application process, we encourage students to self-report AP test results on their application. In reviewing your student’s application, we have not received this information from -----.
If you have access to a school report of their results and are able to provide your student’s scores, we would like to request this from you.
If your school does not keep a record of this or you are unable to provide this information, this is fine and you may let us know that this is the case.
Did anyone else get an email like this? I thought submitting the scores was not required.
@midwestsahm I am sorry that I came off as doing it just for “bragging rights.” If you look back at my post history, you will see that I have had a lot of financial trouble with Yale, and one of the reasons that I applied to peer institutions is so that (if I were to be accepted), I could afford to go without causing my parents a financial burden. I have a great appreciation for my parents, and the last thing that I would like to see is for them (and perhaps my grandparents) taking out unreasonable amounts of money and struggling financially to send me to college (and me taking out unreasonable amounts of loans as well). Please never paint over somebody’s story with your own brush when you do not know of his/her situation, although we are all at fault of this at times. Have a good day.
when is the ivy day this year??
@seawave01 March 28th
@seawave01 28th March 7PM ET
@Benji3025 Cornell too is on the 28th March (https://admissions.cornell.edu/news/regular-decision-notification-6)
@IlluminatiIsReal Thank you for pointing that out–I thought that I read somewhere that it was on the 29th. I guess I was mistaken. Do they all come out at 7 PM ET?
@Benji3025 You may have seen posts about the CAAAN calendar but it was outdated.
@Benji3025 So you immediately switched your avatar to a non-Yale one. Interesting. Maybe I’m missing something, but why would Yale and Princeton financial aid offers be much if any different? They’re peers, two of the richest schools in the world. Chicago is also very generous, was your financial aid offer there any better or worse than Yale’s offer?
Collecting prestigious acceptances is fine, whatever. But using a family friend to get you into a college you’re not going to attend is a totally different ballgame. Classless. It’s something you do when you KNOW you will attend. You KNEW you wanted to attend Yale, hence SCEA and your post history over the last year. Now you’re using a family friend for a fleeting moment of bragging rights. Uncool.
Again, pull your apps, get off this website, and go hang with friends. You will regret wasting this time and burning a bridge with a family friend.
@Benji3025 Yes, most probably. Princeton, Cornell, and Brown announced 7PM ET so I don’t see why others will be any different.
I’m not feeding into the idea that if you get accepted to your EA school, that you must withdraw all of you RD applications. I have already conveyed my reason for keeping my RD apps although I was admitted EA, and I know that many others on this thread have done the same as me. It is certainly not a crime to do so, and it is annoying when people treat it as so. Everyone has the right to apply to as many colleges as they want to RD regardless of whether or not they were admitted EA. Trying to tell me what to think and where “I want to go” isn’t going to change my decision/motivation behind my decision, so please stop bullying me into doing so.
Edit: Despite the opinions of others, I know (because I submitted the application myself) that I was waitlisted at UChicago.
Sorry for mistaking you got into UC. Good on Chicago’s admissions team for teasing out you were just trying to collect a haul of acceptance letters.
@midwestsahm chill out
I think that it is best to treat strangers with kindness, whether online or in real person. I have lived by this ideal throughout my life. This is a thread to discuss the Princeton 2022 regular decision round. I am excited about all the incredible applicants who have applied to Princeton this year, and, as a high school student, I am going to take the high road. I wish everyone the best of luck in the upcoming week, and I look forward to hearing more about your journeys.
@midwestsahm I am not sure of your purpose with @Benji3025, but, its a personal choice on how many universities you apply to, how you want to handle the waiting and/or outcomes. Applications aren’t free, so if Benji wants to apply and wait and see what the options are, because he/she paid to do so, then its their journey - not yours to judge. Benji doesn’t owe anyone an explanation on why they applied to or not to any university or why the wait or not.
midwestsahm: Your behavior speaks volumes in such little snippets on this board. I will ask that you be removed if you do not stop the bullying. At this day in age and at your age, you should be able to identify that what you are doing is bullying, and its not only ugly but ridiculous.
Agreed. As someone who was deferred from Yale, I get that it can sting when someone is admitted early and doesn’t unequivocally attend, but if there’s a reason why that’s not possible for his situation, that’s absolutely Benji’s prerogative. You can bet that if I was admitted SCEA without an absolutely acceptable package, I’d be applying to my other reaches to get Yale to reconsider.
@midwestsahm Take a chill pill and take all the advice you have given him. It holds for you, not for him. Your post history shows your arrogance and how offensive you’ve been on CC. You’re not in a position to tell @Benji3025 what to do. He is free to apply to the colleges that he did, any other college too of course. For what it’s worth, his reason(s) to apply to colleges in the RD round although being accepted to Yale in the EA are very well explained (although he didn’t need to) and understandable, unlike your posts. Be nice to one another next time :-).
@Benji3025 Good luck to you too!
@midwestsahm you are literally a grown adult woman with children attacking a high schooler about where he applied. It’s none of your business what his choices are even despite him telling you exactly why he applied to other schools after being admitted EA. This is a forum to share information and anxiously await decisions, so if you’re not doing one of the 2 you should’ve be here.
I don’t see what the point was in picking on a high schooler who just wants to go to a great college! At first I thought it was another anxious applicant venting out their frustration but after reading the post by @MaybeHarvard2022 I think that it’s even more ridiculous that you’re even here. People like you shouldn’t be allowed to bully others on a public forum. I seriously think you should apologise to @Benji3025.
@midwestsahm
So salty @midwestsahm bullying is not accepted here, guilting a senior into changing their avatar. Shame on you! Sunday is Funday, now go have some if that’s possible for you. @Benji3025 continue being that shining STAR, or Bulldog, Tiger, Lion, Bear etc. Congrats you worked hard and deserve your choices, apologies for midwest who needs to grow up and be gracious like you.
