OFFICIAL Rutgers FALL 2012 Transfer

I feel your pain. I go to MCC and I’ll have my associate’s by the end of summer. Maybe I’ll see you in the fall.

Benjimon, I think you will be fine. Even though your gpa is a bit low you have quite number of credits.

@Collegegirl04

If I am correct you only had 12 credits WHEN you applied? Rutgers might make you wait until you finish your spring semester before giving a decision. They certainly will make a decision before your summer courses end so they don’t really help your chances. However, if you had HS stats that would have gotten you in as a freshmen then you will be fine.

For those of you who are transferring, the number of college credits you have matters A LOT.

I just transferred from a CC in new jersey to SAS in NB this spring so let me know if you guys have any questions

I applied to SAS New Brunswick, Newark and Camden in that preference. I have already been admitted to Camden, but Newark and NB are still in process.

Stats:
OOS
3.77 gpa
49 credits (61 by end of semester)
Convicted of a felony when I was 17 in a state outside of NJ (I’m nearly 25)

Any chance of gaining admittance to Newark or NB in any of your opinions?

Academic wise you are in but I am not sure about the felony charges

I’ll say he gets in. The felony took place over 7 years ago, when the guy was a minor. Then again it depends of the felony. If you don’t mind me asking, what was the crime?

Just got rejected from the business school, but sas and sebs (all new brunswick) are still in process. I’m on the edge of my seat here lol

So what are the chances for a 2.8 gpa, 39 cred, OOS transfer for the school of engineering and sas?

@blink2393 what were your stats?

2.63 gpa, 14 credits when i applied… 3.75 high school gpa… strong extracurriculars… coming from Pitt

Blink2393, your chances are NOT looking too good.

dj brah, you might get into SAS. Slim chance for SOE

@NJCollegeBoy - It’s felony Robbery (conspiracy) - I fully realize that what I was convicted of when I was 17 is a big deal, and that may be why only Camden has admitted me thus far, but I’m hoping Newark/NB will see the changes I’ve made in the last 7.5 years.

To be honest it’s extremely exciting just to get into Camden. At least I know I’ve made it somewhere and can continue my ‘comeback’.

I just found out that i got rejected by the business school, wait listed at SAS, and accepted at SEBS

How come i haven’t heard back yet but an applicant like bobby with just a semester of college gets a decision? I mean my GPA is a little lower than his but I have four times as many credits as him…

edit: used wrong account… my account is Benjimon

I applied to SAS with a 2.9 and 65 credits by the end of spring + an associates degree.

major is comp science

Does anyone know if Rutgers updates the statuses only at night or also in the daytime as well?

When I got admitted to Camden they updated the page sometime between 10:05 pm and 10:32 pm.

@13haashopeful: I wouldn’t take it the wrong way at all until you actually hear something. I heard from Camden over 2 weeks ago, nothing yet from Newark or NB SAS. I have 49 college credits, 61 @ end of semester.

apparently there are a lot of people trying to transfer to SAS this year, obviously making it harder to get in

this is 13haashopeful/benjimon

Yeah but i applied early november…

i called them like a week ago and the person i talked to told me that they dont really make decisions based on when you apply. its all about your credentials and the pool of students they are accepting at the time

@soccerguy1990 yeah i only have 12 credits and a 3.5 gpa when i applied but i am part of the psi beta honor society at my community college and i ended up with a 3.6 gpa in high school and i managed track and field (winter and spring) and cross country all 4 years of high school. im hoping that these things will help my chances in getting in.
